A private little church in New Jersey.
Steve and Peggy's wedding was taking place here. They did not like big parties, so they only called a few close friends and family members.
Inside the big church, besides the priest and the couple, there were only a handful of people present.
Phil was definitely there; he couldn't miss his idol's wedding.
Sitting next to him was a young woman in her early twenties with long golden hair.
She was Peggy's relative, her niece Sharon Carter, who had recently graduated from S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy.
Black Widow Natasha and Hawkeye Barton were also in there.
They should not have been here because they were not as close to Captain America now.
Only the big old man sitting in front of them knew why they were present.
Nick Fury's unexpected arrival was quite surprising. He was a busy man, and yet he made a special trip to New Jersey for the wedding.
When Jack teleported in, he was surprised by the silence of the church.
The wedding seemed a bit too quiet.
But then he realized it was pretty normal.
Both Steve and Peggy disliked being in the spotlight, and with the hidden threat of Hydra, it made sense not to draw attention.
"Jack."
Seeing Jack appear, Steve's face brightened, and he walked over to hug him.
"Am I... late?"
Jack looked around and thought there wouldn't be anyone else coming.
"No, we're about to start."
Steve shook his head and looked at Wanda and Pietro standing behind Jack with an expression of surprise.
He raised an eyebrow and asked, "Who are these two...?"
"Oh, I forgot to introduce them."
Slapping his forehead, Jack stepped aside and introduced, "This is Pietro Maximoff, and Wanda is his sister. They're currently living with me."
"Pietro, Wanda, nice to meet you."
Peggy, wearing a pure white wedding dress, walked up to them and greeted the siblings, grateful.
"Thank you both for coming to our wedding."
Peggy looked up at Steve, her face beaming with a smile of happiness.
In Steve's eyes, the love in her gaze was so intense it seemed ready to burst.
Steve felt the same way. The two of them shamelessly showed affection, paying no attention to the people around them.
Jack couldn't help but sigh at this view.
These two had been through so much, and if it weren't for him, Steve would have regretted it for the rest of his life.
"Um... I think it's time, right?"
Jack looked at the time and urged, "It wouldn't be good if we missed it."
"Yes, you're right."
Peggy nodded and took Steve's hand, leading him back to the stage.
Jack and the other two found seats nearby and watched the wedding ceremony happen.
The wedding ceremony seemed short and easy.
The priest gave his blessings to the couple, asked for the opinions of the guests, and then the bride and groom exchanged rings, sealing their vows with a kiss in the middle of the crowd's applause.
And it was done.
Except for the couple, the one who seemed most excited was Phil. His hands were red from clapping so much, and he only stopped when they started to hurt.
The wedding quickly ended, and after spending some time with the guests, everyone began to leave.
"Jack, wait."
Steve called out to Jack and pulled him aside.
After making sure no one was around, he asked in a low voice, "Do you know where Bucky is? How is he? Peggy told me about him, that he's still alive."
"Um... about that."
Jack smiled awkwardly, glanced at Peggy standing in the distance, and said, "I really want to tell you, but I can't. Peggy and... they would blame me if I did. Just remember that he's doing well, and he's safe."
Before Steve could ask any further, Jack patted his shoulder and suddenly summoned a pair of glasses, putting them on Steve's eyes.
He added, "Enjoy your honeymoon."
After saying that, Jack disappeared with the Maximoff in each hand.
Steve sighed helplessly and was about to take off the glasses when he suddenly heard a voice in his ear.
"Augmented cognition system activated. All personnel, Steve Rogers."
At the same time, a quick burst of information flashed before his eyes, informing Steve of what had happened.
These glasses could explain anything he didn't understand and help him blend into this world more quickly.
As an old man who had been asleep for nearly seventy years, this wedding gift was perfect for him.
Of course, the functionality of these glasses goes beyond that.
They also have combat assistance features, but Steve would have to experience them himself.
For example, it was finding someone to fight.
It's really a great thing.
Of course, Jack's gift didn't end there. In the garage of the New York airport, a state-of-the-art private plane was waiting for its owner.
After all, you can't go on a honeymoon without transportation.
...
Time always flies by quickly, and before they knew it, a month had quietly passed.
Jack returned to his otaku lifestyle, staying at home every day and sometimes going for a walk in the nearby neighborhood.
Life felt satisfying even though it was ordinary.
In terms of his physical recovery, he had made much progress, mostly because of Wanda.
Wanda almost slept with him every night, even though she said she did not trust him.
This allowed Jack to absorb a large amount of chaos magic every day. Over time, it helped him get better faster.
Overall, the month passed peacefully and happily.
If things could continue like this forever, Jack felt he would be very satisfied.
But life doesn't always go as planned.
Unexpected events always happen.
"What did you say?"
In the living room, Jack was confused by Nick Fury, who was sitting across from him and drinking tea and snacking as if he had come just for afternoon tea.
He didn't quite understand the meaning behind Nick's words.
"Sorry, but I may not be able to tell this matter in a way you'll understand, so..."
Nick Fury put down the half-eaten osmanthus cake, brushed off the crumbs from his hands, and took a folder from Agent Coulson, who was standing behind him.
He handed it over to Jack.
Jack looked strange when he saw it and quickly opened it to look inside.
The paper was only a few pages long, but it was full of important information.
For example, some very strange things have been happening in a place in New Jersey recently.
For instance, some residents woke up to find their homes completely changed. They would have thought they had slept in the wrong place if it weren't for the house numbers and neighbors.
Or there was a poor guy who reported that his newly bought car had been stolen, and the thief had left him a... "beat-up" Volkswagen Beetle.
There were even people saying that when they returned home at night, they would see a large blood-red light flashing on the street, with the faint image of a woman within it.
S.H.I.E.L.D. had heard about a lot of weird things happening, but when they sent agents to look into it, they found that the houses and cars were still there, and there was no sign of a red light or a woman.
At first, even S.H.I.E.L.D. thought it might be a mistake, but when someone who said they had seen the woman drew an image of her, Nick took the matter seriously.
Jack held the portrait, his brows furrowing tighter and tighter, remaining silent for a long time.
"What's the name of that place?"
He looked up at Nick Fury.
"Well, it's called Westview."
