Chapter 164: Seven years

Chen Xi smiled insincerely, "We have been together for over seven years." 

His voice was also filled with a hint of pride as he spoke. Chu Shuang couldn't help but sense a tinge of tension in his response, but he decided not to pry further. Instead, he changed the subject, not wanting to make the situation more uncomfortable.

"That's quite a long time," Chu Shuang commented, trying to maintain a casual tone. "It's nice to see a couple who has been together for so many years. You must have a deep understanding of each other."

Chen Xi nodded, his smile becoming more genuine. "Yes, we do. We've been through a lot together, and we have a strong bond."

Chu Shuang smiled and said nothing. Chen Xi took this time to ask, "What about you? Is there anyone special in your life?"

This felt weird being asked such a question by someone he had just met but Chu Shuang answered anyway, "No one. I have not been blessed yet."
