Chapter 49: Vanishing

The old man began to explain, his voice filled with wisdom, "These bracelets hold the essence of the ruins they were discovered in. They are my gifts to you for your purchase." As he spoke, he handed one bracelet to each of us, emphasizing, "Here, remember to wear them always."

I squinted my eyes, examining the bracelets. They appeared to be in good condition, without any noticeable flaws. Since they were gifts, I decided to accept them graciously. "Thanks for the gifts, Sir," I expressed my gratitude.

However, as I thanked him, I noticed that he was staring at me silently and with an odd expression.

Then he gestured for me to look at my left side with his eyes.

Curious, I looked and saw Hazel and Brother already wearing the bracelets. Then I understood the old man's intentions.

"Okay," I muttered, moving the bracelet to my left hand. "But they are too big for my hands," I looked up at the old man, seeking a solution.
