His head was muddled, lacking the capability of thinking.
First he had gotten a new clause on his information, consisting of the bond between him and Aethelstan.
Adrian had clicked without much thought, although he had regretted it as darkness took him. He didn't even know what happened afterwards, there were voices. Mana heavily influenced his surroundings and it felt like a part of him.
But even then Aethelstan was a part of him, so it would only make sense that this feeling came from him.
Either way Aethelstan was still asleep, a magical induced coma as Cole found it out to be.
It would take a while for the body and mind to heal, his core would take even longer as the cracks appeared all over. There was even a relatively big chance that Aethelstan would be unable to even use his magic again.
Adrian didn't lie to himself, a budding feeling of worry came over him on the behalf of the other.
His family hadn't spoken with him, afraid to destroy his fragile five year old mind.
They had ventured farther away in the hopes he wouldn't hear but there was no way he wouldn't.
Words of the bond evolving had been spoken, fear of Aethelstan influencing him through it.
His parents were afraid , the others very much the same, the dreams had been spoken in hushed tones.
With the command of the Queen no one was allowed to mutter even a single word, Aiwen had been sent to gather intel about the marquis of hell and the restrictions in Aesteamore had grown more.
The magic shield that had protected the kingdom and him for the past five years, would now also be guarded. Adrian didn't know everything as security was higher around the King and Queen. Even their studies had spells crafted into the walls.
Even though everyone was busy, the fact that Aethelstan got poisoned wasn't forgotten. First was the fact that somebody had gotten close to him and poisoned him but that was quickly thrown outside.
More specifically with the words "Close? To that recluse? Highly doubt it.''
They were at least going to research everyone in the castle and the immediate surrounding, so that was something.
However that wasn't the worst thing on his mind, the dream. He was relieved and glad it was in fact just a dream.
It felt so real, the other's had mentioned the same....yet even now he knew it wasn't the feeling didn't disappear.
He could still feel him sitting there, experiencing a moment that happened more than once in his past life.
Adrian had thought he got over it when he had first been reborn...never had he been so wrong.
Blissful was the sea he had fallen in, nothing but a blessing but a curse as soon as he had woken up. Because he needed to face, actively face it. The past he had ignored like a useless option between a mix of superior ones.
In his five years he had been the happiest and now...he never felt so wrong.
Feelings had come crashing back, the same lonely, desolate person that had stared back in the mirror back then was now gripping his throat.
The person he was, stood behind him but Adrian knew that even with turning he wouldn't see a thing. He just knew,he felt him, deep within his soul.
Scars from times long past.
Proof of hellish years etched on his mind and heart alike...it seemed.
Heart that beats like a pair of drums, blood rushed in his veins and his hands clenched as he had been forced to relive the moment...his past life from the moment he had woken up.
Breathing felt heavy on his chest, the sound echoing in his ears as the moment visualized itself. It had all played out like always.
Same big, larger form standing in front of his door, wisking him away from the safety that loneliness brought.
Snapping himself out of it, his hand tapped his cheek, feeling the tears that had fallen.
Clearly he wasn't ready yet, the pain was too fresh that one shouldn't force it, the load was heavy as well so with a sigh he crashed down on the elf's chest and soon was fast asleep. Much to the worry of Emiris, who came to check on them.
