Chapter 14: New Students
Ten minutes after William left, the Ecliptic Express crashed into the training facility's train passage through the efforts of Rebecca Chambers, Billy Coen, and, after surviving his fight with Bows with the help of Rebecca, Edward Dewey. The crash alerts the two barricaded in the broadcast room and has them looking at the monitors to see what happened, and a few minutes later they see the three survivors downstairs at the painting of Marcus.
Sir, you're there."
"..."
"Team one here; we're on our way to the training school to help you."
"Good, but there's a situation: the train crashed into the school, and three survivors are now in the school."
Understood, wait till they're out of sight and go to the front of the school in 20 minutes and will be there."
"Ok."
While that's happening Albert and Burkin are in the nest watching the star members and Billy, and their signals get intercepted. They see the mother leech disguised as young Marcus and threaten them.
At the mansion, the rest of Star's Bravo team makes it to the mansion being chased by Bows and zombies and enters it, where they split up to secure the area. Team Two splits and watches the front and west sides of the mansion, killing the Bows in their way. While team 3 takes this chance to enter the heliport passage and start making their way to the laboratory's lounge room, where the researchers are barricaded in, Leaving team four waiting for William to get there and go in themselves.
Twenty minutes later, team one gets to the front of the school and waits for the two soldiers. After five minutes, they see them coming out and running towards them.
Sir, we have a problem. Someone at the nest facility is trying to activate the self-destruct of the school. We put some roadblocks in their way, but in three hours it will go off."
Shit, wait a moment. Team 4, do you copy? This is team one."
"Team four here, what do you need?"
"Has the boss arrived yet?"
Negative, he should be here in 10 minutes."
Ok, tell him to call us as soon as he gets there."
"So what are we going to do?"
"We're going to wait and see what the boss wants us to do. Now let's find cover and wait."
Back with William, he's running through the woods, getting closer to the mansion, running into Cerberuses and a few zombies, which he quickly dispatches. When he stops in a dense area and finds a group of trees and the plants next to them looking mutated. Getting closer, William sees the same kind of mutations he found at the abandoned hospital. Pulling some of the plants up, William sees the roots spreading everywhere. He drops them, looks around some more, and finds seven more infected plants.
"Shit, the viruses have spread too far; I need to get ready for the aftermath of the next few days."
William then goes faster to meet up with team four after a bit of time with them.
"Report,"
Sir, the remaining Stars members are in the mansion; Team Two is at the front and west side; and Team Three has met up with the researchers and is waiting for us to continue. However, there's a problem with team one."
"Team one, what's the situation over there?"
After reporting everything, William orders them to stay there until the three survivors make it out of sight and to keep out of sight and see what happens there. He orders team two to standby, and with team four, he goes to meet up with team three. When one of team two's members sees a Stars member getting attacked by mutated crows, William gives a green light to assist and saves the Stars member.
Getting down to the lab William makes his way to team three's location after getting together, and team three and two of the researchers go to the power control room to switch the lab to secondary power. William then, with the rest of the researchers and team four, goes down to the main lab but is blocked by the lab's door.
"Team three, you at the controls."
"Not yet, sir; we were stopped by some chimeras and are now forcing the door open. Give us a few minutes.
While waiting, they got a report from their base saying Sergei is at the Umbrellas HQ in the city and will be going to the mansion soon, sir.
You've got that door open yet."
Yes, we were at the controls."
"Hurry and turn it into secondary power."
A second later, the light flickers and emergency lights turn on, leaving the sealed door powerless. William goes to the door, forces it open, and enters. Before they can do anything, they hear a growl and look up to see a licker on the ceiling.
"Hold your fire; I'll take care of it."
William walks towards it, and when it lunges at him, he turns to the side and punches it on its lower back, breaking its spine. With its lower legs useless, the licker flips over and tries to swipe at William, who backs up and pulls out his gun and shoots the joints of the licker's arms. Before the licker heals, William goes forward and grips the licker's exposed brain in one hand and, while crushing it, trusts his hand into the licker's chest, killing it and then turning it into biomass and absorbing it. After consuming the licker, William feels amazing and, with a roar, transforms his hand into a set of deadly claws. After getting a feel for his new ability, William transforms his hands back and tells everyone to come in and get everything ready.
"SIR were in the U.M.F.-013, but it will take a few hours to separate the White Queen from it."
"We need to have a talk before I take her away."
"Ok, then in an hour we can suppress the Red Queen's program but will need the facility's full power to turn on the White Queen."
"Do it. Team three, in an hour, turn the power back on and move to the helipad for extraction; team four, guard the lab entrance and don't let anyone in."
Upstairs in the mansion The Stars Bravo team leader has found his way into the subway system and decides to follow the tunnel. Richard Aiken is stuck in a storeroom while the other two met up and are in the dining room patching up Forest Speyer's wounds from the crows. At the Training facility, Rebecca, Billy, And Edward are at the front of the church fighting a giant bat. While at the NEST Lab, Albert is leaving to go to the training school and tell Burkin he's leaving Umbrella after this, and Burkin tells him he's not leaving till he finishes the G-virus and also tells Albert that he's going to set off the bomb below the training school.
Team Two also reports seeing something hunched over making its way towards the back of the mansion.
