A Week Later,
"Hey are you ready?" Ling, dressed in white plain t-shirt and blue shirt with blue jeans, asked as he put on his white tennis shoes.
"Yeah I am coming." The boy said as he came out wearing an oversized black hoodie and black pants, a cap covering his blue dyed hair.
"Luckily we are about the same body type or else finding clothes would have been trouble." Ling said as he put forward a pair of black slippers.
"Sorry, I don't have shoes of your size but I will buy it for you today..till then please adjust."
"It's okay, I don't mind, but about the hospital…are you sure?" He asked as he wore the slippers and walked behind Ling.

"Yeah, I called Bin Ge a little ago, it will be just fine…but before that…I think we should give you a name."
Ling said and the other boy stopped in his tracks, "a name…"
"Yeah, so it's convenient and comfortable."
"...Then you name me…"
"But–"
"You saved me, so you decide my name." He said as he looked at Ling's eyes.
"Fine then…let's call you…Gu Xian."
"Gu Xian"
" A handsome name for a handsome you"
"Let's go" Gu Xian said as he started walking.
"Hey are you blushing?"
"No"
"Really? But your ears–"
"Hurry up!" Xian said again as he started to walk more quickly.
"Haha you are indeed blushing."

"So you are Gu Xian '' A male in his 50s asked as he smiled at the two boys in front of him.
"Yes"
"I see you are very handsome, come here and lay down, let your body start Check up..and He-ling, you wait here."
"Okay doctor" Ling said and then turned to Xian who wasn't moving from his seat.
"Hey, why aren't you moving?"
"...Do I really need to do this?"
"Yes and now go!" Ling said as he pulled him up and pushed him inside the cabin,
"Wait!"
"Ah! Can you not pull me like that so suddenly?"
"...You will not leave right…" Xian asked as he tightened his grip on Ling's hands.
Ling looked at his face, his clam face and anxious eyes…finally he understood the reason behind him being so edgy.

Ling removed Xian's hands and then held his hands, "I won't leave, I promise, I will wait for you." He said gently, and the anxious look in Xian's eyes finally disappeared.
"Gu Xian please come here."
"Now go and be a good boy." Ling said as he gently patted his shoulders. Xian didn't say anything but nodded his head and went inside.
Ling then sat down on the waiting chair and pulled out his cell phone,
"Hello, Bin Ge"
"LingLing, everything good?"
"Yes, Ge just wanted to inform you that we have come to the hospital and Xian is doing his check up now."
"Xian? That boy remembered his name?"
"No no, I named him that, calling him Hey, you would be weird so I just gave him a name."
"Nice but that means he has not yet recovered his memories."
"Not yet…but I can see his longing for someone in his eyes…"
"...Just give him time and try to stimulate him, speak about family friends, something that might trigger him-Yes! Okay coming! Ling I have a surgery to attend"
"Okay Ge take care bye"
"Talk about family friends….me?" Ling murmured as he looked down at the ground.

"Gu Xian, your recovering speed is very good, your wounds on the hands and legs are almost gone, but for your head, it still needs time so make sure to take care of yourself." The Doctor said as he wrote some prescription on a paper,
"Here buy this medicine and take it after you have food three times a day."
"Okay" Xian said as he stood up, bowed and went outside.
"What is he doing?" Xian thought as he looked at Ling who was looking at the floor intensely, like he would drill the floor with his eyes.
He walked to him calling his name, but got no reaction from Ling, so he held Ling's chin and pulled his face up.
"Daydreaming, are you?" He asked with a frown.
"Huh? When did you come? And can you leave my face?" Ling asked with a panicky look as he was surprised.
"I called you for 10 times at least but you were busy looking at the floor, do you want to marry it?"
"What!? No!"
"Then why?" Both of them looked straight at each other's eyes, not aware that many other pairs of eyes were looking at them too.
"Mom, look , they are about to kiss!" A little girl said, making both Ling and Xian look in her direction.
"Lulu, Ahh sorry my daughter is just a Fujosi fan…you two carry on."
"Yeah yeah carry on!"
"Reach the climax." Other people around them, mostly girls, said.

"What the heck!" Ling and Xian thought and quickly got away from each other's faces, their ears turning deep red.
"Let go!" Ling said as he walked towards the exit but Xian held him back.
"We need to buy these medicines."
"Oh okay"
After buying the medicines they quickly escaped from the hospital.
"People in your town are crazy"
"Nah they are just too giddy."
"And what's the difference?"
"You–just let it be, what did the doctor say?"
"Everything is normal, I am recovering well."
"That's good~" Ling said as he smiled.

"...But I can't remember anything…yet.." Xian said as he stopped in his tracks.
Ling too stopped and looked at him,
"Xian…"
"Ling…I don't know who I am? Where am I from? Do I even have a family? A place called home?...I know nothing and if I don't have anyone then too I will be fine…but what if I do have someone waiting for me at home?...what if they get tired and stop waiting for me…"
"Xian, *places his hands over his* I don't know anything too but I know the one who loves us will never get tired of us. Okay! Now let's quit the emotional talk, and let's go and buy shoes for you!" Ling said as he pulled him towards a small shoe store.

"Excuse me, we would like to buy shoes!"
"Are you rich?" Xian asked as he stood beside Ling.
"Looking at my house, what did you think?"
"Then why are you wasting money on hospital bills and now this?"
"I am not wasting money, really! It's a government hospital and the fees are almost nil plus the shoes here are usually on discount so don't worry, I can manage."
"But–"

"You are He-ling right?" The shopkeeper who was a man in his 50s said as he looked at Ling and smiled.
"Yes, it's my uncle, you recognized me!"
"Of course, LingLing, who could forget you," He said as he came forward and hugged him.
"You have grown so tall, I remember you 14 when you left for hostel and cried all the way from home till the bus stop, ha that was a day to remember." That man said as he looked at Ling warmly and then noticed the other boy a little taller than Ling who looked somewhat of his age standing beside him.
"And who is this? Your friend?"
"Ah, yes uncle lee met Gu Xian, my friend from hostel, Gu Xian met uncle Lee, he has the best shoes in this whole town~" Ling said as he pushed Xian a little forward.

"Hello, uncle Lee, nice to meet you." Xian said as he bowed and gave out a little smile.
"Hello, nice to meet you too, our Lingling's friend . You are very handsome and tall too.You need shoes right, take a look around and tell me which one you like." Uncle Lee said as he pointed towards the shoes placed inside the glass box.
*Ring* *Ring*
"Xian, You keep choosing I will take this call."
"Hmm"
"Hello, yes pa"
With that Ling went out, while Xian kept looking for shoes.

"Uncle Lee, I would like this one." Xian said as he handed him a pair of black high converse.
"Okay, nice choice."
"...By the way, uncle Lee is this town ling's birthplace?"
"No, as far as I know Ling came here when he turned 10 before that he lived somewhere else…but why are you asking that?"
"Just seeing how much the people here are attached to him, I thought he grew up running around here."
"Haha, I see well that's because our Ling is so lovely and kind just like his father that none can help but love him, I believe you feel the same too." He said and just then Ling entered the store.

"Xian are you done?"
"Yes he is, here I packed the shoes too."
"Thank you uncle Lee, how much would it be?"
"Let it be Ling, take it as a welcome gift from my side. Instead of this come by my house sometime aunty and Pearl miss you a lot."
"But uncle–"
"no but, just say yes."
"Uncle–"
"Ling"
"Uncle pa will–"
"Your pa is not here"
"...okay fine…"
"Good now go and enjoy the rest of the day."
"Okay uncle and tell aunty I said hello, also tell pearl I miss her a lot."
