If there was one thing that had constantly bothered Hade from the very instant Grigori walked into the pub and sat on that stool, it was the bald man's reason for even coming here.

Everything Hade had seen about the Silver Lantern up till now… the food, the service, and even the liquor itself… there was nothing remotely special about any of it.

In fact, even the drink Grigori had ordered, well, more like received via the compliments of the bartender, was nothing special. It was just common blue ale you could find anywhere.

So, why did the bald man even bother with coming here at all? Hade was stumped.

It simply couldn't be some exercise of ego-stroking, or perhaps, superficial socialization just to keep up appearances... right?

What was even more peculiar was that his habit was not a once-in-a-blue-moon type thing. No, Grigori actually regularly frequented the mediocre, if not average, drinking store.
