Chapter 13 - Hunting down a monster
"Sneaking out of the sect is fun." Liu Xin cracked his knuckles, looking at the dense forest and smiling slightly.
He had a sword which he bought from the sect store and used his movement technique to escape from the sect. Well, the guards of the sect gate weren't too powerful even to notice him.
He was standing at a huge cliff, which was some kilometres away from the sect mountain.
He jumped from the cliff, without caring about the height. Air hit his face, but he didn't feel any coldness. Qi covered his body and protected him from the external air.
Even his hair didn't move a bit, and his clothes didn't waver in the air. The requirement for oxygen was fulfilled by the Qi and as the result he was fine.
Before he landed, he utilized his Qi and floated his body for some moment. While he hadn't reached the period of flying, he could float a bit.
The floating only lasted for 2 seconds, and he swiftly landed on the ground with no sound. He surveyed his surrounding but didn't sense anything around.
He moved around. Small animals and wild beasts roamed around. He sensed them quite easily.
Unlike the previous times, no beast could sneak attack him. However, he wasn't here for beasts but monsters.
Monsters generally aren't in the outer forest but in the inner part. The inner part of the forest is creepy. Sunlight didn't reach the inner part. The dim light dimly made the surroundings visible. Thick roots of trees, were even visible on the land's surface and various insects were scattered around.
Poisonous snakes and insects even in minority existed in the inner area. So, a normal person won't dare to visit here.
Liu Xin has activated his barrier which could protect him from the insect as they can't shatter his barrier.
It didn't take long for him to find a monster. It had a similar body to a wolf. But thrice the size of it.
It was taller and bigger than Liu Xin who was 6.2 feet tall. Not to mention, its thick white fur which could even protect it from dense fire, a huge face which had three red eyes, a small nose, and a big sharp teethed mouth.
Its claws were too sharp, as it could even cut metal as if it was butter. The wolf was alone and growled at Liu Xin. With its terrifying eyes, it glared at Liu Xin as its gaze would eat him.
Liu Xin memorised the information about the monster in his memory as he had downloaded the data about it. But he suddenly jerked as another idea flashed in his head.
"Let's check the appraisal function!" He didn't need to go through a whole lot of processes like opening his window and selecting the function, just the thought of it and a window emerged before him.

Even when Liu Xin thought about many things, the time didn't pass more than a minute. The Canis moved its long tail. The tail was erected and looked sharp.
The Canis gritting its teeth jumped at Liu Xin.

Liu Xin immediately used the 'Lighting Step Technique'. His feet emitted sparks of lighting and he moved incredibly fast.
"Woah!!" Maybe immediately using a technique he wasn't familiar with and suddenly gaining speed that even exceed his imagination, Liu Xin hit the tree.
"Ow! I need to be careful." Liu Xin rubbed his face and looked at the Canis who just landed on the ground cutting the air.
Confused and frustrated, the Canis glanced at Liu Xin with extreme rage.
It rushed at Liu Xin at incredible speed. Slicing its claws, it only got marks on the tree. Liu Xin briskly slid sideways and avoided the attack.
Before giving a chance for Canis to react, Liu Xin attacked the Canis with Fiery Palm.
His burning palm hit the Canis, and it was pushed sideways. The attack caused some damage as some drops of blood emerged from its mouth.
"Hmm, let's get serious." Saying that he took out his sword.
"Let's have some fun, shall we?!" Seeing the smile of Liu Xin, the Canis shivered, unconsciously taking a step back.
Liu Xin used lighting steps to decrease the distance between him and the Canis, this time, realizing the speed and reacting quickly.
The Canis didn't react to the speed in time, and Liu Xin reached near it. Liu Xin didn't target any of the Canis' body parts.
His target was the head.
[Target the eyes, that's the weakness]
'I don't need you to tell me that. Even a kid knows.' Liu Xin clicked his tongue and jumped on the Canis' head.
Canis was stunned and jumped trying to disbalance Liu Xin, but Liu Xin jumped once again, swiftly raising his sword and stabbing its nose.
"OWWOOOO!!!" It roared in agony.
Liu Xin hung onto the sword grabbing with one hand and took out another sword with his free hand.
He pulled down his sword and used that force to lift himself up. The Canis who howled and jumped didn't manage to take out the sword and just cried.
Liu Xin used the Celestial Wind Dance technique. His body rotated accumulating wind around him and rushed near the Canis' face again. This time, his sword perfectly stabbed an eye, and the blade even pierced its brain.
The Canis died like that, without putting much fights.
Liu Xin panted softly and immediately stored the corpse in his storage ring. Before any other monster sneak up on him, he ran from there.
