At the top of that list was Ryan's name, following down were other names of students within the institution. 'Should I have this?' he thought, as he lowered his eyes to the bottom of the page. The table had hundreds of names, which were sorted by guild rank, element, and age. Some of the names were marked in pen.

<She also scribbled over hers>

'That must be a mark of who she doesn't like...'

At the bottom of the page was a handwritten note. 'That handwriting looks feminine' he thought, as he read the message "Dueling will be decided randomly. 

<Is that the table of registered participants within the dueling event?>

'Yes, I imagine she wants me to hurt her opponents a bit'

<If you do well in the event, when they reveal that you are an ally of Laila, hardly anyone will object to her decisions>

'She is really smart' he was looking suspicious as he evaluated that table.
