"Anyway," Emma continued, folding her arms across her chest in a mock display of sternness, "lunch is ready for all of you. So get dressed and come downstairs quickly before the food gets cold. Kai's been working hard, and I don't want it going to waste because you all decided to have some extended morning afterparty." She turned on her heel, giving Allen one last exasperated look over her shoulder. "And make sure you don't forget to put on a shirt this time," she added with a roll of her eyes before disappearing down the hallway.

Allen watched her go, a small smirk playing on his lips. He knew she was playing the part of the annoyed little sister, but there was something endearing about the way she fussed over him and the girls. She cared, even if her way of showing it involved setting off smoke alarms and scolding him like a child.
