'Is this the place?' Isla wondered as the sight of an old shed came into view. The fact that there was a shed in the middle of the forest on the outskirts of the west was very suspicious, but that was not of her concern.
What she hoped right now was that her son, Damien, was in that shed with the said half-younger brother of her ex-husband....alive.
Getting to a safe distance, Isla watched how her ex-husband pulled the reins of the horse, putting the galloping of the animal to a stop. For a moment, no one did anything until her ex-husband decided to get down from the horse, and offered her his help by stretching his fingers.
This time, Isla put no resistance and got down from the horse with his help. She knew better than to refuse when the enemy might be near them.
'Ugh...' Isla almost released a groan. Just as her legs came into contact with the ground filled with snow, a stinging pain shot up her lower body to her back.
