''W-Why..'' Why is the duchess here?

Olivia wanted to say but quickly stopped before she exposed herself. She then demanded,

''Duchess, what are you doing to me? I am the maid of the madam. Does the duke know that you are here?''

''Madam? That's funny. I thought I was the madam of the hayes duchy, not Miss Cromwell. It seemed some people are having second thoughts.'' After saying that, Isla turned her gaze at the standing annalise, who was too shocked to do anything.

''Miss Cromwell, I warned you to never associate with me, but it seems my words fell on deaf ears.''

Annalise came out of her stupor and asked with a stutter, ''W-What does the duchess mean?''

''It means you are too stupid to see that your maid wanted to frame me for something that I did not do.'' Isla did not mince her words.
