Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Request accepted
"Where did you go?" I've been looking for you for a long time.
By the time Reynold reached his room, Garner was already waiting for him. There is a small disappointment on his face.
Some times, Garner will forget that he is the chief of a village. He will act like a little teenager who will be annoyed at little things. Reynold found his behaviour a little funny.
"I thought you had already left this village. What a waste of time. Did you change your mind to come and see this old man? Tell me the truth. I won't blame you."
Garner did not give Reynold a chance to speak.
"Hey, old man, stop acting like a child, and tell me why you are waiting for me."
Garner got a little annoyed with Reynolds' question. He is the chief of this village. But Reynold was treating him like a child. He knew that Reynold acted like an elder some times, so he did not get offended.
"You think I have no other work to do? Don't forget that I'm the chief of this village."
Garner lashed out at him.
Even though Garner is saying this in a serious tone, Reynold knows that this old man came to persuade him to become a Eunuch for his daughter.
After a few minutes of silence, Garner slowly asked him,
"What is your decision, young? Please tell me that you are ready to go for the royal palace. I also brought a present for you. I will only give it to you if you decide to take on the burden of protecting my daughter."
There is a big expectation in garner's face. He was playing all his cards against Reynold. Reynold also knew that the old man cared too much for his daughter.
If he has to accept Garner's request, he will be acting more like a servant and an Eunuch in the royal palace.

Reynold opened the book, On the cover page, a stout, tall man was present, and the name "Arthur Kang, The Emperor of the Southern Star Continent," was written in golden letters.
There is an entire map of a kingdom on the first page. He kept the book aside.
"Old man, now I'm really curious about how a small village chief like got the chance to become a relative of the king?."
Reynold was really suspicious about how a rich king would accept a daughter-in-law from this small place. He seriously thought that there must be a catch in this marriage proposal.
But contrary to his expectations, Garner started laughing loudly.

"You are really a stinky old man, Garner. You said they were present for me. Don't tell me that it is that book."
Reynold berated Garner.
"Oh, where are my manners? Sorry, young man, I completely forgot about it."
"Please accept this present as a token of my gratitude."
Garner gave a small book to Reynold.
Reynold did not see what it was. He kept it aside like the previous one and prepared for sleep.
Garner exited Reynold's room after a long stare.
