(according to the timeline, Molly weasely (nee Prewett) and Arthur Weasley should graduate in 1968 but we will do that in 1970 according to fandom for a small plotline)
Transfiguration class
Professor McGonagall was early in her own class on transfiguration. There were two students joining her on her early arrival, Mike Selwyn and Benedict, reading what could easily be identified s a muggle book, which was being frowned upon by their fellow housemates.
Minerva however was uninterested in their free time activities, as the two were faring quite well in her subject of teaching for the month-long they have been taught.
She turned into her animagus form to stealthily go under her desk but her stealth was quickly noticed by the Benedict kid, as she was picked up by him and was now being caressed by him while reading.
She could return to her human form, but she wanted to hide the animagus transformation from her students, at least from the first years. Animagus was a very dangerous field of study under transfiguration subject and curiosity with the mix of forbidden titles was always a topic of interest in the young blood.
Also she was liking the say her fur was being caressed.
One by one students started to fill up the classroom and after a matter of five minutes, she jumped out of Benedict's hands to take the seat of the Professor in the class.
Transfiguration was a difficult and dangerous subject of magic in her opinion as a small mistake can bear dangerous consequences.
Even Inanimate objects could harm the caster and the danger level was raised by many levels when the subject of transfiguration is a living being, or worse, a human.
On the other hand, it was also the most used magic in a practical sense and very lucrative magic for students.
Her first saying to the first years has been, is, and will be always the same caution-filled warning "Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts. Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned."
POV end
"Today's class is about perhaps the most commonly used branch of transfiguration, Transformation. Now anyone wants to" With the hand already up Minerva decided to continue the explanation on her own than fuel the inter-house rivalry anymore, as the discipline and decorum of the safest self-appointed most prestigious school of magic in the magical world, Hogwarts was already in shambles without her participating in the twist.
"With a month to practice under supervision, you all are now capable of simple transformation such as a match to a silver needle, now we will-" Everyone was excited to take a more practical approach to transformation as for a whole month they have been reading books and transforming matches to needles.
"be taking a more theoretical approach to the subject of transformation, it is more logical than it may seem, in muggle terms it is quite scientific." Everyone had their mood brought down, except Benedict and Mike, and one or two of the Ravenclaws who had already expected that this year they won't be getting much action out of their subjects.
The whole class became a boring lecture, almost to the lecture Prof. Binns delivered in their lectures on Magical history, except that most of the students were wide awake, with the fear of Prof. McGonagall, infamous for her strictness and love for discipline as a teacher.
After the classes were all over, Benedict approached Professor Slughorn, for getting a new wand as was his responsibility as the head of the house to provide help to the students.
Regarding this, the Slytherin prefect, Lucius Malfoy was given the task to accompany Benedict to Ollivanders this weekend. Which Lucius accepted without any qualms.

"Still having a problem with the broomsticks?" Asked Mike sitting on his oh-so-perfect flying broomstick.
"This illogical means of air transport is anything but feasible for me, I would rather apparate a hundred times back and forth than use this for travel."
"This is a free class, you can opt to not participate after the first initial introduction classes," Mike said while doing vertical flips with his broom. It was true though, after the initial showing off, of one's capability to fly on this abomination of transport means, you could opt to not participate in advanced lessons, most of which revolved around quidditch. I held no fancy in the game itself, being a dangerous game.
Now dangerous, I get it one could climb mountains for the thrill of it, but you don't hang yourself from the neck for fun.
"I am leaving. I got a date tomorrow-" Mike had his brows raised. "With the Malfoy prefect."
[Two-month0 break due to exams] [Also I am not satisfied with this chapter, might rewrite later]
