Chapter 26: Team Meeting
After the teams were announced, the new ninjas were allowed a break period. Some of the squads decided to relax and bond with each other, but some teams separated to do their own things.
Naruto and Sasuke didn't want to stay together, so the whole team separated.
Yasui also used this time to eat the last bentos from his female classmates. From today forward, he wouldn't be able to eat their meals anymore, so he wanted to savor all of the food.
When noon rolled in, all of the new Genins came back to the classroom and eagerly waited for their new Jonin sensei.
Most of the new Jonin senseis came early, bringing their squads to a location so that they can have their first team meeting. This included Asuma, Kurenai, and even Sakura's new Sensei–Arisa Asano.
Arisa Asano is a Jonin that had only been recently promoted, but her skills spoke for themselves. Most of her skills focus on water release, making her quite the water-release kunoichi.
"Why is our sensei so late!?" Naruto opened the classroom door and peeked outside, trying to find their new Sensei. All of the other team's sensei had already come, so he was getting a little impatient.
Sasuke is having one of his cool moments, and Yasui had already dozed off with one hand on his cheek. None of them answered Naruto.
"Heh! Heh! This will be his punishment for being late!" Naruto cheekily laughed and placed a chalk eraser on top of the door.
Sasuke gave Naruto a glance, and he thought that Naruto is a fool for playing such silly pranks, especially to their new Jonin teacher.
Suddenly, a hand pushed the door open, and a head of spiky silver hair came through the door. The chalk eraser that Naruto placed in between the sliding door came falling down, making a mess on top of Kakashi's head.
Naruto instantly laughed at Kakashi while pointing at him and shouting: "I got him! I got him!"
After seeing that their new Jonin sensei fell for the simple chalk eraser trap, Sasuke wondered if their new Sensei is really a Jonin.
The commotion also woke Yasui up from his little nap. He felt a sense of nostalgia, seeing that Naruto succeeded in his prank. He found it a little funny the first time he saw it, and It's still a little fun this time around.
"Hmm. How can I put this? My first impression of you guys isn't very good. Well, I hate you." Kakashi bluntly spouted some words, making Naruto and Sasuke flinch.
Kakashi observed the three and came to the conclusion that there isn't any form of teamwork at all. Naruto does things by himself, and Sasuke is a little self-centered.
As for Yasui… he seems a little too relaxed. It's as if this whole thing doesn't phase nor concern him at all. However, Kakashi kept his eye on Yasui for a little longer. That person is the author of one of his favorite series? The Shinobi Love Master? He wondered if it is really true, or if Katsumi is just lying.
…
On top of the academy building.
"Let's see. First off, let me have you guys introduce yourselves." Kakashi sat on one of the beams at the edge of the rooftop, and he stared at the three Genins in front of him.
"Ohh! I have a question! What kind of things are we supposed to say?" Naruto raised his hands and asked enthusiastically.
"It's simple. Your likes, dislikes, your future dream, hobbies, things like that!" Kakashi shrugged, his hands coming out to the side.
"Hey! Before that, please tell us about yourself." Once again, Naruto spoke up for the team.
"Me? My name is Kakashi Hatake. I don't feel like telling you guys about my likes and dislikes. I've never really thought about my future dream… As for my hobbies, I have many." Kakashi looked in the sky while thinking about the erotica books that he had been reading…
"That's like saying nothing at all," Naruto murmured, clearly dissatisfied with the answer.
"Next is you guys. Let's start with you." Kakashi turned his head to Naruto and hinted for him to start.
"So! So! My name is Naruto Uzumaki! I like instant ramen, but what I like even more is the ramen from Ichiraku! What I dislike is the three minutes after pouring hot water into the instant ramen. My hobby is eating and comparing ramen! And my future dream… is to surpass the Hokage! And so, I'm going to get everyone in the village to acknowledge my existence!"
A bit of sweat appeared on Kakashi's head as he listened to Naruto's introduction. The fourth Hokage's orphan grew up with ramen revolving around his life, and the only goal that he had is to become the Hokage to gain respect.
"Okay, Next." Kakashi then turned to Sasuke.
"My name is… Sasuke Uchiha. I have lots of dislikes, but no likes in particular. And… I don't feel like summing up my ambition as just a dream, but I do have an ambition! The ambition to restore my clan without fail…and to kill a certain man!"
Naruto stared at Sasuke, shocked. Sasuke didn't mean him, right? They never got along, but it's not to the point of wanting to kill each other, right?
Kakashi understood what Sasuke meant. Sasuke wanted to kill Itachi and avenge his clan, the clan that was slaughtered not long ago.
Yasui wanted to spit at Sasuke. The guy is too dark, and he knew that Sasuke would never accomplish his so-called ambition. His brother Itachi will fall to his terminal lung disease, and his goal of restoring his clan is shit. Even after the Naruto series ended, Sasuke only had one child. To call that restoring the clan? Sasuke could suck on some asses.
"And lastly." Kakashi finally turned his attention to Yasui, the remaining Uchiha.
Yasui had thought about this stuff right after he reincarnated into the world.
"I like a lot of things. I also don't like a lot of things. My hobbies include writing, creating businesses, and making money! My goal for the future is to create a peaceful world that I can enjoy!"
Yasui summed up his goal simply. After all, there were many things that needed to be done to achieve his goal. One of the things that he needed to do, is getting rid of Danzo–one of the village elders. If he said that to Kakashi, he might be imprisoned this very instant.
