Chapter 117: Chapter 117: Sisters

"How did it go?" Anna asked June as she stepped into the sitting room with a smile.

"Not so bad." June replied smiling even harder. She took a seat beside Anna and the picture of her dear big brother smiling and blowing kisses at Paige came back to her. This was the first time she's ever seen her brother behave in such manner. In fact, it was the first time Simon have ever fallen in love with a woman. She was happy and worried as well. Happy that her brother was happy. Worried cause she was yet to understand what Paige had with Franklin Tedson.

"What? Why are you smiling so much? What happened." Anna asked tapping June by the shoulder.

"I saw something that made me happy and worried." June replied turning to Anna who was sitted beside her.

"What's that?" Anna asked already suspecting that she must have seen Paige and their brother together as she recalled that the previous night she'd gone to Paige's room to check up on her but didn't get to see her and she overheard her voice in Simon's room.

"You know what Anna. Stop trying to pretend, it doesn't look good on you." June complained.

"Know what? What exactly are you taking about June? What do you think I know?"

June looked at her sister for a while  before changing her mind and decided to share her discovery with her. "I saw brother and Paige. "She paused to see Anna's reaction.

"Okay, what happened to them?" Anna asked.

"I saw them, like saw them. S.a.w them." She stressed.

"Oh my god!" Anna exclaimed covering her lips with her palm. "You saw them? They were.... Omg!" Sge exclaimed again refusing to finish the sentence as she knew June was reading her body movement and could tell if she was lying. If there was anybody in the house who could read meaning to there body movements comfortably, it was June and this was part of the reason Anna hardly engage in very lengthy conversation with June.

"Hmmm," June hummed convinced that Anna knew nothing. "I think Paige spent the night in Simon's. I saw her under his sheets and he called her baby. I mean b.a.b.y." she said with a demonstration.

"No way!" Anna exclaimed acting shocked.

"Yes way sister, I saw it with my very two eyes. They seem to be in love with each other. Seriously, I felt so jealous watching them." She giggled.

"Wow, are they coming down for breakfast?" Anna asked.

"Simon said they've eaten already. So it's going to be just you, Emily, principality and maybe me." She said.

"You excluded Jack." Anna reminded her. "And your two visitors."

"Jack is here?"

"Yeah, I brought him home from their school. I will also take him back once the wedding is over. I will personally take him back to School.

"Oh Lord, my little Jack. Where is he? I can't wait to see him." June said excitedly.

"He should be with Emily or outside playing. *Meanwhile tell on, what did Simon say about our new guests?"

"Nothing serious. He agreed to let them stay as long as they will be  out of his face immediately after the wedding" she told Anna who heaved a sigh.

"At least Paige's presence in his life is amazing. And you are lucky he accepted your visitors to  to house this visit.

"My visitors! Really? She is your friend too you know.

"I wasn't the one that sent her an invite to my wedding. You are.

"She wanted to come. She commented on my social media handle when I posted our pre-wedding pictures. What did you expect me to do?  She is your friend.

"She was my client." Anna said.

"One that eventually became your friend. You even paid her a visit at Baltimore. Didn't you?" June asked with an accusing finger. "How did she suddenly become your friend anyway. Thought you swore never to mix business with friendship."

Anna shrugged. "I can't even remember how we became friends. But during her case with Frankie, she was looking destressed, tired and in need of help. I felt there was more to the story than she wasn't letting me on."

"I remember telling you she was a gold digger who was wasting your time. The latter finally turned out to be true. I haven't changed my view about her being a gold digger though." June said. "I'm just being nice cause she took care of you and played a very good hostess to you at Baltimore."

"Stop using the word gold digger like it's nothing June. That is a very strong word. We don't know her struggle." Anna cautioned. "She was pregnant and needed attention and that was all she was asking for."

"Anna please, stop trying to act like I'm suffering from amnesia of some sort. "She was pregnant and wanted Frankie to marry her. Frankie refused and she decided to come to you to make build a case against Frankie for negligence and make him pay through his nose. Such an ambitious girl! There were so many lawyers she could reach out to but no, she wanted Yardstin's biggest shot; The Anna Kentley! And you fell for it hook, line and sinker." June demonstrated.

"June stop. That is not entirely true. She was neglected by Frankie. I believe her. She had bruisese on her skin." Anna explained.

"She told you that she got those from Frankie? And you believe her? With no substantial evidence? Come on sister! Was she really pregnant? Did you at least conduct a pregnancy test?."

"She was pregnant when she came to me. Six weeks gone." Anna replied absentmindedly as she suddenly went into deep thoughts. "You might actually have a point June. I find it hard to accept that she was all about the money. But thinking of what you just said and it's kind of making so much sense." Anna said.

"Think about it Anna, what did she really say Frankie did to her?"

"That he got her pregnant and refused to take responsibility. But when I reached out to Frankie about this, he accepted being responsible for the pregnancy, agreed to care for the her and the child as well. But he refused to marry her. A couple of days later, I had to reach out to her cause I didn't hear from her for three good days. She told me she was fine and she was sorry for lying to me. Said she wanted to blackmail Frankie into marrying her with the pregnancy. But since he's remained unmoved, that it was high time she moved on." Anna narrated.

"And you weren't surprise?" June quizzed.

"Of course I was. I was disappointed as well. I tried pressing her to know the reason for her sudden change of mind but that was the only information she agreed to release. Two months later, she called me from Baltimore. Said she's relocated to Baltimore and she is leaving with her mother." Anna shrugged. "I wished her well. I was also very happy to know that she was hale and hearty. Whatever her reason for running away from Yardstin was, it just hoped it was all worth it." She added.

"If it was all about money, then believe me when I tell you that Frankie paid her off. Cause the image of how she came to you is still on my mind. She was looking homeless. How could she suddenly afford a house at Baltimore. Suddenly Anna. It is truly suspecious please." June told her.

"I know right. But that doesn't make her a bad person though. She might be going through a lot and we don't know the full story too. If money was what she needed to carry her pregnancy to full term, then it's okay."

""Dear preacher, I hear you." June announced smiling. "Contrary to our previous discussion, I'm leaving soon. Since your friend and her mother have been granted the permission to stay at the mansion." She said with a sarcasm laced voice.

"You what?" Anna asked laughing. "I can't believe I took you serious earlier. I already made a mental note of canceling any plans of going out I made earlier. And as for your last sentence, I chose to ignore it and I'm definitely ignoring it. So please, say all you want." Anna said in reply.

June stifled a lsughter. "I'll quickly go see Emily and my Jack please. Speaking of Jack, how is Bruce?" She asked playfully.

"He is well thank you." Anna replied. "Now can you go to Emily." She might have heard your voice and I know she must be expecting you.

"Hmmm, such a scared baby. You are obviously scared that I will ask you more about him ain't you?" June asked.

"About who?" Anna asked pretending not to know.

"About your crush Anna." June replied giggling as she stepped away from a Anna. "I'll be right back sister." She shouted as she left for Emily's room.
