Chapter 15: Despair

The sound of the village's small bell could be heard throughout the village the small bell is only heard when there is an event or occasion, while the big bell that is placed at the gate is only heard when Ninjas are leaving or returning.
Tatsuya was close by at that time, very close to the bell. Out of curiosity, he went to check what was going on because it wasn't time for the weeding-out ceremony yet, it was kind of too early.
Tatsuya struggles his way through the crowd given that he has a small body and the only ones present are adults.
"They are foolish"
"How can they think of such a thing"
"It's impossible"
"Guess they got what they deserved"
These were the words Tatsuya heard as he found his way through the crowd
Getting closer to the scene he notices that there were a lot of ninja guards around the place, but that didn't bother him, but what shocked him the most was the presence of The Captain of the Second Squad, at that moment he, that was when it occurred to him that this is something serious.
Approaching the site, he fell on two bodies hanging on something that looked like an execution tool, their bodies were lifeless the only thing holding them from falling was the rope wrapped around their neck, looking at the two bodies Tatsuya's arms and legs went cold, small beads of cold sweat covered his face, his breathing became rough, or rapid to be precise his entire body felt heavy that he fell because of mere shock
Tatsuya stared at the bodies of his two inmates, as they floated on the air. Tatsuya was conflicted, with rage, sadness, pain and despair, he was disorganised he rolled on the flowing crying in pain and anger, the food, brought was already messed up, and the crowd shifted from him thinking he had run mad.
Tatsuya got on his feet and roared out in anger and dashed towards the bodies but the ninjas urged him to before getting too close but he didn't show any sign of listening, the ninjas, on their own accord decided to use brute force but were stopped by the captain
Even after seeing the captain Tatsuya didn't bulge he continued at the same pace
"I'll advise you not to get any closer"
The captain coldly and calmly said
But even after hearing the captain's order he didn't stop but pushed on
When Tatsuya approached the captain's range, the captain grabbed him by the neck, raises him and smashed him to the floor, Tatsuya spilt a mouth full of blood
The captain bends down and whispers to his ears
"When are you going to realize that you are weak"
After the captain had left him, Tatsuya didn't stop at that he got right back up and attempted to run again but this time, the captain punches him hard in the gut and chops him in the neck to make him lose consciousness
But to the captain's greatest surprise he didn't fall unconscious, he only lost control of his body and fell on the ground, something like being paralysed Tatsuya still gnashed his teeth in anger
The Captain calls the Warden for an inspection
"His behaviour is unusual, I suspect he is the culprit, do a clean check on him"
"Yes yes"
The Warden says as he scanned Tatsuya
"Hmmmm, the body structure is the same, in terms of muscles, fats and bone but hair colour and face even emotions and personality are all different, the person I fought was kind of calm, but this guy is a beast"
The Warden takes a pause
"Well I wouldn't want to ruin my reputation by giving a wrong judgment, so just let him be"
The Warden says
"No"
The Captain says
"He disregarded the order of his superiors let alone a captain, he can't be left unpunished"
"As blunt as ever, well do as you wish, after all, you are the captain"
The Warden says and left the place
"Uzui Tatsuya, I hereby sentence you to 2 months imprisonment for your disregard of military order not only to me but to your senior colleagues. You will be there with no food and water, if you can survive it, then luck is by your side, I'll give you pardon for today, by this time tomorrow I want to see you behind the cell"
The Captain gave the order and took his leave.
For 2 hours straight Tatsuya just stared at the bodies in pain and tears
'It's my fault, it's all my fault
Tatsuya thought to himself as he cried
After another hour had gone he regained his strength and carried the bodies and went to the old ban and dug two graves and laid them.
After that he realised he had only today to be a free man until he went to his grave
He decided to head to Mikoto manor, although Mikoto is out on a mission
As he approached the manor everyone was overjoyed and came to welcome him, he had a very good relationship with the slaves, but all were disheartened by his current state
He greeted everybody with the best impression he could ever use but non of it calmed their worry
He immediately noticed that amongst all the slaves one of them is missing
"Where is Yue?"
He asked but all of them bent their face in sorrow as if someone had died
"I'm asking where is Yue??"
He asked again weakly and was about to fall to the floor but some male slave guards held him
The oldest amongst the female slaves raised her voice and said
"Forgive us for our disrespect young master, Yue is resting in the slave chambers right now"
The male slaves helped him to the female slaves' chambers
He signalled the Slaves taking care of her to leave them alone, he staggered towards her bed and sat on the floor beside her
"Tatsuya sama, you're back, I'm sorry I can't be of any help to you..."
*cough *cough
She coughs out blood
"No no, you don't need to force yourself, just rest"
Tatsuya consoles her
"... Tatsuya sama, I think I'm going to die, my body has gone weak, I can't breathe well, I can't eat, and my eyes are so heavy, keeping them open now consumes almost half of my strength"
Yue weakly said
"You are not going to die, I'm leaving now, let me go to the night Market and check if there is anything I can get you"
Tatsuya says and attempts to leave but was abruptly stopped by Yue's weak hands pulling him
"At least grant me my last wish by listening to my story.."
A/N: My heart ached as I wrote this chapter. But all the pain is necessary though.
