Chapter 53: Emergency Meeting

With a casual stride, Samuel approached William, who was slumped in Alex's office. The guy knew he had a problem. But William's issue right now seemed like a life-or-death matter.

He felt a bit guilty for deciding to ignore his cousin to chase after his wife. But the pursuit failed because he couldn't find Clara at the hospital. After desperately searching for Clara, Samuel finally decided to come to his uncle's office to attend the emergency meeting even though it was already more than an hour late.

"Sorry, seems like I'm late," Samuel said, scanning the room and realizing his uncle and dad were no longer there. "What did they say?"

William froze. His face was so gloomy, and it seemed like his mind wasn't even there. He didn't even respond to Samuel's question with anything, as if he didn't notice his cousin's presence. It was only later when Samuel patted his back that William's soul, wherever it wandered off to, rushed back to its owner.
