Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Entrance exams

Arin and Sam arrived at the capital, Arin eager to start his new journey at the Arcanum School of Magic. As they made their way through the bustling streets, He couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. They finally arrived at the school and were directed to the entrance hall, where the entrance exams were being held.

As Arin was waiting in line, he noticed two people standing a few feet away from him.

The first person was a friendly-looking girl with long, curly hair. She introduced herself as Lily and said that she was a first-year student who was able to control water magic.

The second person was a tall, muscular guy with a scowl on his face. He introduced himself as Marcus and proudly announced that he was able to control lightning magic.

Despite Lily's friendly demeanor, Marcus was rude and entitled. He looked down on Arin and Lily, and made it clear that he didn't believe they were fit to attend Arcanum School of Magic. Arin could tell that Marcus was going to be his rival throughout the school year, but he refused to let Marcus get the best of him.

The first entrance exam at the Arcanum School of Magic is designed to measure the strength and potential of each student's magical source. This exam will assess the amount of magic power a student is capable of harnessing and will be used to determine which hall they are best suited for.

The second exam is a demonstration of each student's magical abilities. This exam requires students to demonstrate their mastery of their magic against a training dummy. The dummy is enchanted to simulate a variety of different magical attacks and defensive maneuvers, and students must show that they can effectively control their magic and use it to defeat the dummy.

These exams are crucial in determining which hall each student belongs in, as each hall specializes in different types of magic and focuses on developing different skills and abilities. The results of these exams will be used to place each student in the hall that will best challenge them and help them reach their full potential as a magic user.

The device began to light up, displaying Arin's magic power level. The examiners were impressed with his reading then the device kept getting brighter. Then the device cracked and broke in half.

Everyone was dumbfounded by this, No one has ever made the magical source detector max out let alone overload it to the point it breaks.

The exam room was a buzz with chatter about what just happened everyone was talking about Arin and what just happened. Faculty and student alike now have made mental notes of who Arin Lightwood is.

Lily was in awe of what happened and was glad she made introductions with him and his sister before he got too popular.

Marcus sneered and thought that he was cheating and will see to it that his light here at Arcanum is short and sweet and for the first time in a long time he felt a sense of competition.

He passed the first exam and was one step closer to being accepted into the magic school.

After the rest of the examinee's finished the first exam everyone that passed were ushered to the next exam room. the ones that did not pass were sent out and asked to try again next year.

The second exam was a demonstration of the student's magical abilities. Arin was given a training dummy to practice on. He focused on his magic, channeling it into his hand. He lifted his hand, directing his magic towards the dummy.

From the his left hand he created several stone bullets and began firing them at the dummy. Then he smirked and began to charge the dummy and when he got within melee range he channeled magic into the rune on his right hand and created a wind blade.

Then with a quick slash he cut the dummy in half and then sent another wind blade at a dummy in the distance.

The examiners were once again impressed with Arin's abilities. They noted his strong control and mastery of his magic as well as the face he could use two different types which is extremely rare.

Arin passed the second exam with flying colors and was officially accepted into the magic school. He couldn't wait to complete the final step of the entrance exam, The Hall sorting ceremony.

The Headmaster Made a announcement to everyone waiting to be sorted.

"Welcome, young magic users, to the sorting ceremony. This is the moment where you will discover which hall you will call home for the next few years. The chalice in front of you has been imbued with powerful magic, and it will determine which hall you belong in. To start the sorting ceremony, you must channel your magic into the chalice. The chalice will then determine your hall, and a beam of light will emit from the top of the chalice, showing the emblem of the house."

Armin approached the chalice sorting ceremony with a mix of excitement and nervousness. He had heard so many stories about how the chalice determined the destiny of the student and which hall they would belong to for the rest of their school career.

He closed his eyes and focused on channeling his magic into the chalice. Suddenly, he felt a warm glow from within the chalice and heard a soft hum.
