Chapter 32: Knight Of Silver
Seeing the goblins and wretches struggling to even touch the knight, Axiolypito went and took direct control of their movements, since they couldn't be tortured to use what little brain they had.
Suddenly, the mob of lower monsters steadied themselves and moved in unison, the silver knight was surprised by this as one of the gorilla-like monsters charged him from the front all by itself, acting as if it was going to slam both of its fist into the knight.
Preparing to counter this poor excuse of an attack, the knight was further surprised when the monster twisted itself unnaturally, hitting the ground as it struck way too soon and leaving it outside of the knight's range.
Slightly tilting its head back, the knight noticed something unnatural was happening inside of the monster, it spat some of those round, cage-looking things the knight had seen some monsters carry around, the ball increased in size upon being puked out.
Only then did the other monster made their own moves, moving around as if they shared a single mind, the spheres bursted with a thick cloud of moths, the flying insects directly trying to attack the knight.
Without panicking, the knight allowed for the smaller monsters to jump onto their backs and hold on their legs, not worried about those in the slighest, only relying on their senses to avoid the brutes as they rose their mace in the air.
The monsters were oddly quick to pick up onto what they were about to do and use everything they had to try and block their arms from making the downward motion.
Mana accumulated in the head of the mace, turning from its most common blue shade into a more silvery one right as the knight brought their mace down onto the ground, a dome of silver passed through the surroundings, crushing the moths and sending the smaller monsters flying away.
The poor bastards having tried to stop the motion having been crushed by the arms of the knight.
Ever so silent, the knight quickly came to realise what was the next plan the monsters had in mind, the silver knight tried to find where the peculiar wretch from before was but to no avail and the brutes were already surrouding them.
Five brutes, all grey made the same move as before, throwing up cage spheres but this time, no such things as moths came out, the balls expanded drastically and spewed out mooses, the animals appeared in the air, theiy couldn't attack much but they made from great projectiles.
Even the knight would have a hard time wrestling with such a beast without using skills or mana and there were way too many of them, not to mention all these mooses seemed to be particularly beefy.
Once again accumulating mana, this time with a sense of urgency, the knight circulated the silver colored mana throughout their body, swinging with renowed speed and dexterity, rending the herbivors to guts and blood before they could bury them completely.
It wasn't perfect however and the disembodied head of one of them struck the back of the knight, forcing the silver knight to take a single step forward, putting them right in the perfect angle to receive a right hook from one of the brutes.
Momentarily dazed by the direct hit, another of the brutes grabbed them in a bear hug from behind, trying to squeeze their inside out as the rest repeatedly pummeled the knight that was now vulnerable, unable to swing their weapon or to anything else.
Axio gloated as he sneakily rubbed off sweat from his forehead, having never actually seen mana in action, for he had a ridiculously small amount of it himself.
In fact, he had so little that he could easily pass of as a regular animal or grass.
None of his abilities had anything to do with any sort of energy, everything was just him and the system putting in the work.
He looked amusingly at the brutes beating the hell out of the knight, they didn't look very protected anymore, the armor wasn't nearly strong enough to endure so much blunt force trauma, even if the brutes were hurting themselves over time, it didn't matter, it wasn't Axio's fists that were bleeding.
He was about to have them hit and hit until they physically couldn't anymore but the knight didn't seem to want to quit, even after the severe bludgeoning session they had endured, the silver knight was still perfectly conscious.
With blood seeping from the minuscule gaps in the armor, the silver knight seemed to have been focused on something whilst being made into a punching bag, suddenly managing to break free of the grasp of the brute, blowing its arms apart before crushing the skulls of the other before Axiolypito could give any order.
Visibly breathing heavily, the silver knight stood tall, their demonstration of power making the monsters around stiff and giving them the wish to disappear, however, the needle claw in their nape wouldn't let them do anything contrary to their despot's whishes.
'This power up came out of nowhere!' complained the wretch, as his eyes met that of the knight, making him back off with his hands held up high.
"Heey... No hard feelings? You did kinda come here aggressively, sooo... It's only natural that the little guys would be a bit mad" explained the wretch with a slick smile.
The knight grunted in a deep male voice before coughing a bit.
"This city is property of Roderst wretch, no one and certainly not a lesser monster is allowed to lay a hand on it" he stated as he readied his mace.
Axio's face twisted in an abonimable expression at the words he pronounced.
"Very well then" the wretch raised his hands, making all the monsters go away as he walked closer to the knight.
"Let's assume your words are correct for a moment, why don't we check where you stand compared to me?" with bloodshot eyes but a strangely calm tone, the wretch threw two spawners on each sides.
A bear appearing out of both a few moments later.
The wretch could feel an odd heat on his chest as the knight shook his head.
"It doesn't matter whether or not you defeat me, I am not the only one coming here"
