Jake's POV

His father had lost his mind. That was the only thing that could explain the menagerie of weapons and unidentifiable chunks of metal that littered the pole barn.

"We're off to a slow start this morning, so I'll skip the theatrics. Ripley, you've got no restrictions. Whatever you can come up with to defend yourself or Jake, it's fair game. Jake, you can keep your loud mouth shut. This is for the girl to figure out what she's capable of. We've only got today and tomorrow before you've got to go back to work, so I'm afraid it's going to be a long couple of days."

August turned to the long workbench where most of the weapons were stored.
