Jake's POV

Panic. That's what that feeling was.

When Jake had smelled the stench earlier, he had panicked. He had sent half the pack to tail Ripley at various points throughout the day.

Then, he had followed her to this stupid restaurant. He watched as that maniac started to lose his grip on reality, and he hadn't been able to stop himself from stepping in.

Arresting her might have been an extreme measure.

He took a long sip of water from the bottle in the console cup holder.

Martinez navigated through traffic, his mouth clamped tightly shut.

"So, Cara, is it?" Jake started, twisting in his seat to address Ripley.

"Sure."

Okay, she was a little pissed.

"Or should I call you Juanita?" Jake continued. Maybe if he prodded a little, he might get something from her.

"You could if you wanted to. I might not answer." Ripley was glaring out the window.
