After the terms of their stay were arranged, the three sat talking in the living room.
Bee found it very amusing that their first guess for Lavinia’s favorite drink would be a bloody mary. They also asked a lot of questions about Lavinia and what it was like being undead.
Lavinia seemed to take it in stride, as far as Casey could tell.
Eventually, though, Bee pointed out that they had to go to work as the sun was setting and the bar they tended would hate it if they were late. Casey warned Bee that the two of them would be as quiet as possible when they returned, but that both she and Lavinia were nocturnal.
Bee understood and told them that they would manage if she and Lavinia were too loud.
After that, Bee left.
Lavinia started poking around Bee’s house, looking at bookshelves and the plants.
Casey just sat on the couch, trying to catch her breath. She felt incredibly numb. So much had happened so quickly that she felt like she couldn’t handle it all.
