Chapter 11: Chapter 11: An Apology...Of Sorts

Casey winced as the bandage on her neck came away, cracking slightly and smelling vaguely of sweat and sanguine fluids. This was the third? No, fourth change of bandages. Lavinia had been pestering her almost nightly about changing them.

Casey took a wet cloth and wiped the area the bandage had covered. The holes where Lavinia’s fangs had sunk into her were scabbed and bruising had blossomed around them.

All things considered, though, it was healing nicely though it was beginning to look like it might scar.

Lavinia.

Casey could still feel her iron grip on her arm and shoulder. She could still feel her mistress’ hot breath on the back of her neck. And she still felt as helpless as she did in that moment.

It had begun seeping into her dreams. Her sleep was plagued with Lavinia hunting her through the mansion or passing Casey to her friends in that club. Casey had woken up in a cold sweat the past few days and had a hard time returning to sleep.
