Chapter 27: Chapter 27

"Now that we've had our fun, I should probably get to helping out Ingvild." Damian began, reaching into the empty air at his side before space itself rippled as his hand pierced through without any complications. While it looked impressive, it was really quite a simple spell.

"So she agreed☆?" Serafall asked, cheerfully fulfilling her curiosity as she looked over Damian's Evil Pieces. They were quite beautiful, more so than most devils were anyway. Many looked nice but there were also some of the most ugly colors she had ever seen included among them.

"She didn't seem fully aware of what was happening but she did." Damian explained briefly before using his demonic energy to unlock the expensive life support machine Ingvild rested inside, her lifeforce quickly dissipating.

In the cannon it took three things for her sleeping disease to vanish completely, her Longinus awakening, being reincarnated by Issei, and the help of two Greek gods of sleep. For obvious reasons, Damian couldn't fulfill the latter two.

'Hopefully, time will be enough.' Damian thought to himself and he would have prayed it if it weren't for the solemn ceremony he was about to begin. Unlike the 'canon', Ingvild had plenty of time to recover which would hopefully be enough to cure her.

Placing his mutated queen piece on top of Ingvild's chest roughly above her heart it quickly turned into pure magical energy and was absorbed into her body. Underneath her body, a magic circle containing the Thaumiel clan symbol appeared in all its pink glory.

All of a sudden Damian felt a connection between him and the swiftly dying descendant of Leviathan. It wasn't something emotional nor was it a magical bond like he held with Ajuka, it was a connection between their respective souls.

'I have free access to her soul… how terrifying.' Damian thought to himself as he felt the connection between their souls gradually strengthened. Eventually, the process ended and Ingvild's body twitched.

"Nothing's happening☆." Serafall stated the obvious, confusion clear in her voice. It was obvious that she was confused, nobody had even bothered to waste a piece on somebody with the sleeping disease so she had no prior experience or knowledge to go off.

"Her sacred gear hasn't been awakened. Lady Leviathan, could you please lend me some of yours? I'm afraid I don't have enough." Damian requested, not even bothering to turn his eyes toward her.

Right now, he was looking intently at Ingvild though it was more correct to say that he was placing all of his focus on her soul. Her sacred gear wasn't awakened because the demonic energy that was used to strengthen the connection between them wasn't enough to awaken it.

It was a shame really because when the connection was formed it wouldn't use his demonic energy to awaken her sacred gear, it would use his energy to awaken her own demonic energy which would then awaken the sacred gear naturally if everything went normally.

'Having low demonic energy really is a pain.' Damian thought to himself, not even flinching as the ice cold demonic energy of Serafall Leviathan entered his body, its shade instantly shifting into the most familiar wavelength.

Damian could feel his body struggle to adapt to the sudden tsunami of energy flowing through his body, straining under the 'weight' of the energy that his body and soul recognized as his own yet his mind knew belonged to another.

"Dia-chan☆!" Serafall shouted as blood flowed out of Damian's nose. The physical body could only hold so much energy at once before it began to crumble under the 'weight' and Damian had long since surpassed that limit of his young but matured body.

"Don't stop!" Damian shouted stoically, enduring the pain gnawing at his every cell as best he could. Even if his body recognized the invasive energy as his own it didn't change the fact that he had limits.

Serafall had only agreed to share her demonic energy as despite her common sense saying that it was beyond stupid she trusted that Damian, the boy who could change his wavelength freely, would be fine. An incorrect assumption.

'Damn, you're guzzling this stuff down!' Damian thought to himself, a confident smirk on his face as he pushed Serafall's altered energy through their connection. The Evil Piece had altered her soul and body to be receptive to his energy and her lineage and energy deprived body allowed her to take in all the energy he was giving her.

Her body was like a desert that was getting rain for the first time, it took in every drop he gave it and still showed no signs of being full. In the span of a mere few seconds, he gave her three times as much energy as he had but he had been 'feeding' her for a few minutes and nothing seemed to be happening but his body was certainly feeling the results of it.

However, Damian could tell that his efforts weren't being wasted. Slowly but surely the purple sea that made up her soul was filling with water, its once pale color darkening repeatedly into it was a deep purple similar to the depths of the ocean.

Most importantly though, in a certain depth of her soul, there was a small cracking happening similar to a bird breaking through its egg. It was slow and steady and it hurt like a bitch but progress was happening.

Until finally, the metaphorical egg shattered and the dark murky waters instantly turned into a beautiful shade of lavender that spread all the way through the room her physical body had been in for the last century.

Falling to the ground Damian lay down on the ground and looked at the ceiling. It was exhausting to say the least but it was well worth it for somebody like Ingvild Leviathan to be on his side.

"Is it done now☆?" Serafall questioned worriedly, her violet eyes looking all over Damian's body for injuries. With the exception of the blood escaping his nose, there were no physical traces of damage but this wasn't an entirely physical issue, even his soul could be affected.

"Ask her yourself." Damian replied tiredly, slowly moving his demonic energy through his damaged body to get a scope of the issue. The damage was quite bad but it could be much worse.

Since he was only the middleman he didn't actually spend that long with the energy inside his body before he shoved it into Ingvild's soul for safe keeping which kept the damage quite low for how risky it was. For somebody as weak as him, he should have turned into a bloody mist.

"...Where am I?" The weak and tired voice of Ingvild Leviathan sounded out in the empty hall, her orange eyes that were filled with exhaustion searching her surroundings tiredly while her lavender hair cascaded down her back in a lazy but elegant way.

Ingvild Leviathan had been successfully reincarnated.
