Chapter 28: 28: The Ancient Tree
Jayden increased his cautiousness to the next level before he entered this dark passage, his aura was swirling around the area as he proceeded.
"wow"
Jayden widened his eyes in wonder as he looked all around the passage, in between the gem stones stuck on the wall, he could see some ancient paintings drawn on the cave walls.
it was almost as if some ancient civilization had lived here countless years ago.
Jayden tried to make out the paintings but he couldn't understand what they meant, the only thing he knew was that they seemed to depict legendary Pokemon and humans.
for example one painting showed hundreds of humans bowing to the sky as drums sounded off, the next moment all three legendary bird Pokemon appeared.
Zapdos, moltres, and Articuno.
these three legendaries were iconic symbols of the Kanto region and were in the hearts of many people, even in the hearts of the people of ancient times.
"I still don't know what all these paintings mean" Jayden laughed and decided to forget about it.
he headed deeper into the passage, the further he went the wider the passage spread out until he reached another open area.
but what caught his eye the most was the sparkling gemstones that adorned the cave walls and the top of the cave, it was almost like the endless brilliance of a thousand stars in the starry sky.
under this array of gemstones stood a huge tree, it was unknown, but due to the presence of this tree, the area around here seemed to be growing with plant life.
Jayden took in a huge breath of air in excitement.
there was a formless energy here that he couldn't describe.
it was similar to his aura ability, but vastly different and seemed to embody the essence of the universe itself.
with each breath that Jayden took, he felt as if his aura was uplifted and entered euphoria.
even Gyarados seemed to like this place very much.
"what is this place" Jayden thought to himself, seeing as there was no danger here, he approached the huge tree which had large leaves and seemed to embody the spiritual energy around here.
Jayden brought out all of his Pokemon.
raboot, Pidgeotto, and rhyhorn.
he allowed them to roam around the area since there were no dangers here.
the 3 pokemon along with Gyarados looked around the new environment in an adoring way and started playing around immediately.
he didn't know what it was, but just being next to this ancient tree seemed to increase his control over his aura, even his Pokemon seemed to benefit from being around this tree.

sitting in a cross legged pose, Jayden sat underneath the tree and meditated on his aura.
while training his aura, the mysterious omni-energy around the tree seemed to be attracted to him and continuously entered his body.
Jayden tried his best to comprehend the energy he was receiving, but the form of energy was ethereal and hard to discern.
boom!!
after a few minutes a loud sound erupted from Jayden's body, his long black hair blew in the wind and his clothes fluttered.
this startled all of his Pokemon and they soon surrounded him in confusion and curiosity.
[Congratulations host!
your aura ability has broken through to the [mid] rank stage] a holographic screen appeared in front of Jayden.

Jayden felt as if his control of aura had become a lot stronger, not only that he felt more powerful with better control over his mind and body.
but....
even with the increase in his aura ability, he still couldn't comprehend the primordial energy that lingered around this ancient tree.
Jayden decided to put it to the back of his mind.
as much as he wanted to stay here and continue training his aura, he had to return back to the surface or he would be labeled a missing person.
that wouldn't be good.
Jayden sat up and looked around at all of his Pokemon.
"I'm ok guys"
Jayden said.
his mind was immediately filled with all the thoughts of his Pokemon, and each of their cries was understood perfectly by him.
back when Jayden had a low rank aura ability, although he could communicate with Pokemon, he still had trouble discerning their true feelings, he only got bits and pieces.
but now...
he understood his Pokemon clearly, almost like they were speaking to him in human languages.
if he wanted, he could even look through the memories of his Pokemon and other creatures.
"amazing" Jayden said in wonder and stretched out his hand.
his aura was released from his body and surrounded all 4 of his Pokemon, gently passing by them like a cool breeze.
although his Pokemon didn't know what he was doing, they all rushed towards him and nearly made him stumble to the ground.
"guys stop, that tickles" Jayden said with a laugh, all his Pokemon seemed like they were really concerned for him.

while Jayden was playing around and feeding his Pokemon, a serpentine figure could be seen slithering around on the huge tree inside the cave.
this serpentine figure was blue in color with a underbelly that was a pure snow white.
it carried a jade sky blue orb around its neck, and two on the end of its tail.
this serpentine creature watched Jayden and his Pokemon, although it wanted to approach Jayden due to him being the first creature it had ever seen, it was scared and didn't dare to approach.
yet, the aura that Jayden released was calling out to it.

Jayden was lying down underneath the tree, Pidgeotto and raboot were lying down next to rhydon while Gyarados was laid down almost flat like a log.
it had been at least an hour here and Jayden still didn't know how to escape this area.
although he could fly on Pidgeotto, the little bird was too small right now and couldn't fly for too long with Jayden on him.
Jayden was about to fall asleep like the rest of his Pokemon, but he kept his eyes open, trying to come up with a plan.
he unconsciously stretched out his aura and noticed a figure approaching him from the treetops.
although Jayden was surprised to see another creature here, he didn't move or plan to attack.
this creature which approached him seemed to have a similar aura to the tree which embodied the strange primordial energy.
Jayden felt no killing intent from the creature so he waited to see what it would do.
instead of doing anything, the creature just silently watched him before lying down atop a tree branch.
"is it mimicking my Pokemon?" Jayden felt like laughing, something was telling him that this creature was mimicking Gyarados and tried to lay down the same way.
Jayden couldn't make out the appearance of this Pokemon since it was high up in the trees, so he decided to approach it first.
