Ban Liko is a construction worker. He is a member of the masonry guild who possessed skills that his fellow masons emulate. For this, he fancied himself an artist. After toiling and reaching level 10, a smile plastered itself on his face. As he picked his main class, Warrior, he wanted then to pick the Artist subclass, however, he cannot as he found out he already had a subclass— Builder. To be honest, he felt insulted. It sounds so basic.
[Muscle Bound (Ban Liko)
Class: Warrior- Unlocked at level 10 (Level 10)
Subclass: Builder (Rank C)]
He took a quick reading in the tutorial guide specifying the subclasses. Apparently, there are two kinds of subclasses: inherent professional, or system derived. He doesn't really know the meaning of these words, but the system explained it to him nonetheless.
Inherent Professional classes are subclasses born from the hard work of civilization. It is a professional job recognized by many for its unique usefulness and specializes in one job. Gaining these subclasses required the acknowledgment of the common folk.
System Derived classes are subclasses born from the system for it seeks a great demand from their players. The Players are in great need of many things however it is judged that the subclasses that the players needed the most are Blacksmith, Tailor, Bard, Cook, Alchemist, Scout, Artist, and Teacher.
If a player chooses none, they may work on their goals to acquire a more specific subclass. The Players can pick a second and third subclass after they reach level 41. These are called Extra Subclasses. This doesn't have any limitations. However, each subclass is required to have a different kind of Exp Points on them, thus becoming more time-consuming.
Ban Liko closed his system interface.
"Oi, Manchu… Can you make me an axe?"
"Why? Wanna slay some more beast?"
Ban Liko solemnly nodded. Slaying beasts are also in his goals on top of chopping up some wood. Though he doesn't have much understanding of the system, he knew what it meant for the main class to be locked. It meant the skills are locked, but not the attribute distribution, so it wasn't that bad considering that Ban Liko is a mason whose job has a synergy with a Warrior's attributes.
"Here, it's just a stone axe, but our resources are limited! So make good use of this stone axe!" Lin Manchu handed Ban Liko a rather smooth axe.
Lin Manchu is a blacksmith before all of this. After receiving his classes, he became quite an influence to his fellow pilgrims as weapons for the 'Players' are quite a in demand.
Ban Liko is slowly having an understanding of the third option that the 'Little General' shared in the tongue. To be honest, Ban Liko's purpose for coming to this place is so that he can gain enough power for his revenge.
There is this putrid hatred that he has been taming for some time, but because of the Little General, some o this hatred has been aroused. Now, with the mysterious 'system', Ban Liko has gained some confidence… That maybe he could do it right.
He recalled the faces of a certain Templar who took away his daughter.
"I'd love to gain some main class levels, but no… I am going to cut some trees." Ban Liko said to Lin Manchu who has been his acquaintance for some time.
It is not like he can achieve his revenge by cutting some trees. For a builder, Ban Liko is quite slim and far from the muscular stereotype of builders. Though he did name himself as 'Muscle Bound,' that's just because of his envy of the many builder friends he has.
"Here is your axe, it's just a stone axe though. I don't have enough tools but you can use this. If its durability gets low, just come back. Just remember, I am on the priority list of house commissions!" Lin Manchu tapped Ban Liko's shoulders eager to earn his favor.
Ban Liko is similarly eager to gain his favor and many others. Ban Liko's plan is simple, build first his capital. Some of the pilgrims with a Builder class are a threat to him. The benefits are also limited, so he can only work harder and faster.
If he managed to build the necessary buildings for the many pilgrims, it will be a great boon for Ban Liko. All sorts of players specialized in their subclasses funneling their resources to him is such a dreamy thing.
Carrying his stone axe, Ban Liko rushed to the nearest tree he found, and started chopping. With his first stage cultivation strength at level 11, he used his BOOST skill and EQUIP to make quick work of the tree.
He similarly did this to more trees. Currently, thanks to the skill he has in his subclass, the Builder's Inventory, he can store three kinds of items with 99 maximum capacity, a truly heaven-defying skill for a builder like him.
He has other skills that came with his subclass Builder Rank C, but all of them are mostly passive.
That is how, unknown to the Game Master, the first ever Minecraft Player came to be. The Game Master will only learn of this weeks later as 'buildings' after buildings started appearing in the Immortal City.
Ban Liko with fervor and excitement made progress as he maxed out the logs in his inventory. He then commissioned a pickaxe from Lin Manchu. Coming to Desolate Mountain's underbelly, a spot he found out through luck, Ban Liko started this mining spree.
After lots of hard work and reaching the desired 99 stacked stones, he then proceeded on building the first 'blacksmith' of the Immortal City.
Ban Liko recognized that the Blacksmith Shop isn't the first building as there are some huts already, but it is the first shop carrying prestige that would help in the long run as the good name spread among the players, or as Ban Liko liked to call them— pilgrims.
At first, the 'Immortal City' looked like a boring village because of the many huts. But that changed with the appearance of the Blacksmith Shop. Ban Liko cannot do something overly grand as he is alone. His mason friends are too busy to level up more of their main class.
The Blacksmith Shop is a combination of stone and wood. It is only a single story, but if compared to the other 'huts', it looked quite attention-grabbing.
However, because of what Ban Liko did, the builders started gathering. Some of the recognizable friends he had in the Masonry guild even took the extra effort of supporting Bna Liko as the unanimous leader of the builders.
The builders are not that many, less than a dozen, but they are quite a force to be reckoned with!
Just like that, the building efforts increased. Even those with unrelated subclasses are going the extra mile of helping the builders on acquiring the needed resources.
Ban Liko resisted laughing when he saw a mage with an axe trying to chop off a tree. Ban Liko wasn't selling anything of the sort. In fact, he and his builder friends only did is to request resources from their fellow pilgrims.
The builders gathered whatever money they have left and bought wood and stones from the willing players. It was a genius move as Ban Liko progressed their building further, even going as far as to execute grander designs.
After a couple of weeks or so, the town-like Immortal City looked more like a city by then. Lin Manchu who only had a small blacksmith shop, has now a three-story building.
The powers of cultivators are really impressive. Building projects that should have taken them months are easily done in weeks. They are like heavy pieces of machinery that worked perpetually. The only reminder they are still people is the hunger bars in their system telling them to eat.
