A Learning Process

En'Oat. POV.

We arrived back at the Jedi Temple a couple days past. I spent most of it doing errands around the Temple and as Master Cin promised. Cleaning the training equipment. It had been a tiring experience and Master Plo had thought it funny and gave me to Master Cin without a fight.

"A Padawan should be open from learning from multiple masters." He said as he delivered me to Master Cin with nothing but a best wishes.

As for what Master Plo was doing, he was providing his term of lectures for the younglings. As he was a member of the Jedi council he was in constant rotation with the other members as a teacher for the older initiates. Mainly it was Master Yoda teaching them about the Force and history of the Jedi. Each member was required two lectures a month. Though, Master Plo says the one who seems to be able to escape it is Master Kenobi.

"Padawan En'Oat." Snapping me from my memory was Master Cin's voice. I looked up from my standing position in the corner of the room to see him with his arms crossed starring at the younglings. I walked to his side.

"Yes, Master Cin?" He glanced at me.

"Form Vl, guard." I was confused, until he glanced at me again expectedly.

"Yes, Master." I unclipped my lightsaber and snapped into position. I made sure to turn my lightsaber on its lowest setting and turn it on. The younglings wowed at the Cyan color that filled the room. Master Cin, walked around me, overlooking my form. Nodding in satisfaction.

"Once you all reach your final years as Initiates, you will choose a lightsaber from to learn. Don't be alarmed, your decision will not be final." He gestured to me. "Padawan En'Oat, has selected Form Vl. An easily master lightsaber form, it is far more relaxed with bladework and offers more flexibility to add force attacks into your combos." All the initiates looked at me with wonder in their eyes. They were still young. "This form was often used by Diplomats of the High Republic, and is still used by those who would rather study and learn as much from the archives." He looked at me again. "Low guard." I moved to point my lightsaber at the ground with my hand on my wrist. "The low guard offers easy rotation, to other a crouched position or to parry then counter." He looked at me and nodded his head, I nodded to him and crouched rotation the hilt to a reverse grip with my left hand and it being behind me. Then I stood up and performed a parry and counter in slow motion for them to follow. "That will be all Padawan." I turned off my lightsaber and bowed to him, walking off to my corner again. "Those are just a few examples of the maneuverability of Form Vl. I have another padawan who specializes in Form lll to come in a provide another example for you." Could he mean Barriss? I haven't seen her since the tournament. "Younglings, please find a partner and practice Form l for the next 15 minutes." He clapped his hands and the younglings went over the moves in their best way. Master Cin turned and walked to me.

"Master." I bowed my head and he did the same.

"You're Form Vl is good. I could offer further instruction. I am aware that Master Plo is a practitioner of Form V." His face was still as stone and he didn't blink.

"You would do that?" He just nodded.

"It is my duty to make sure all Jedi are prepared. I am one of the few Masters of the Form. I am willing to pass on my knowledge. As I do with the other padawans and the other Forms."

"I was under the impression I was your least favorite padawan." I stared into his eyes. I had grown an inch from my time gone. I could feel a growth spurt about to occur.

"Nonsense." He waved his hand in the air. "You have never exerted yourself in the past tests. I sought to change that." His head was high and his eyes firm. I couldn't sense any uncertainty from him.

"Then I must thank you, Master." I put my fist to my hand and bowed to him.

"Do not thank me yet." He said with a slight smile and a bow. He stepped back and the doors opened revealing Master Unduli and Barriss. He turned to them and bowed. "Master Unduli, always a pleasure." He then bowed slightly to Barriss. "Padawan Barriss" An echo of Master followed form the class. They walked further into the class room and further examined the class.

"It is our pleasure to help the younglings." Master Unduli said with a gentle smile that seemed to feel the air in the room with ease and tranquility. They didn't seem to notice me and continued to the younglings. "The order will be in fine hands with all of you in its ranks." Master Unduli bowed fully to them, and they all did the same. "Now my padawan is meant to provide an example Master Cin?" she said while looked to Barriss.

"Form lll, Padawan Barriss." Master Cin said in his serious voice and walked to the mat. Barriss looked confused and stared at him. He huffed. "Please perform the defensive stance of Form lll" Her eyes widened and she snapped into position. "Thank you." Master Cin folded his arms behind his back and did the same thing with her as he did me.

"Do not stay in the corner, Padawan En'Oat. Come forward." Master Unduli said while a few steps away from the presentation. I walked to her side.

"Forgive me for not introducing myself Master." I said with a slight bow. A light smile marked her face.

"There is nothing to forgiven Padawan." I nodded at that. "Master Plo speaks highly of your skills." She said while looking at the younglings.

"He does?"

"He says you have far more protentional than expected."

"Oh…" I mumbled a little anxious.

"Relax, Padawan En'Oat." My anxiety vanished and I was calm. I looked to her and she didn't even bate any eye.

"I didn't know you were capable of affecting someone emotions." She shrugged slightly.

"I am not. I merely offered a suggestion. It was you, who put it in affect."

I doubted that, her years as a council member must have provided her with droves of knowledge. It is said she was one of the best healers in our era. Perhaps it was with that skill she calmed me down. It couldn't be though from my understanding. Physical contact was needed and a focused mind from the…

"You think very loudly." Master Unduli said with a side eye. "Another thing Master Plo spoke of." I blushed and looked away.

"Forgive me. It is a bad habit."

"You need not ask for forgiveness." I sighed and nodded.

"As a member of the High Council, are you given complete access to the archives?" She nodded.

"Most we have access too, some are locked for only the Grandmaster. Other are locked for the Blademaster. Some are locked for the Tactitian." I nodded along at her explanation.

"Is there any way to have access earlier?" I asked unsteadily. I was a little nervous at what her next response would be.

"You would have to be a Master, and you are still years away from that achievement." She spoke steadily. As if she was expecting that question.

"Did you know I was going to ask that?"

"The Council is aware of your hungry mind." She gave another side eye. "Be careful that it does not consume you." I formed a grim expression and nodded my head.

"Of course Master." She nodded and looked to the younglings. They looked to be wrapping up their lesson. "Master Cin, perhaps a duel from the padawans?" Master Unduli asked with a smile and walked forward to stand at his side. Master Cin just nodded and looked to the both of us.

"It would be good for the younglings to see live combat." He pushed the younglings back by waving his hands forward causing them to stand on the side of the mats. I walked to the side of Barriss as he was talking to the younglings.

"A month without seeing each other and we have to fight. Talk about luck." Barriss just smiled.

"We will see how far you have improved since last we fought." I just chuckled.

"is that a challenge?" I asked with a raised eyebrow and her smile shifted into a grin.

"I believe so."

"What shall the winner get then?" She looked a little unsure.

"I thought betting was against the Jedi way?" I just shrugged.

"It makes it more fun." I tapped my chin in a thinking manner. "How about some credits. Say 25 credits?" I looked to her, and she still looked unsure but nodded sticking her hand out.

"Deal." I took her hand and shook it.

"Deal." We shook it and walked to other sides of the mat.

"Master Plo did not inform me you gambled?" Master Cin said from beside me, while Master Unduli was at the side of Barriss talking to her.

"I don't." He cocked an eyebrow.

"Then what did I just see." I shrugged.

"Elevating the drive to show an accurate representation of skill from both parties?" I looked at him and he didn't look pleased.

"I will inform your Master of this." I sighed and he walked to the center of the mat with his arms raised and gestured to both of us to step forward.

"Younglings. I want you all to pay close attention to this fight." He looked to the both of us. "You are ready?" We both nodded. He backed away and clapped his hands. "Begin!"
