Chapter 2: Heaven’s Downfall
As if regaining consciousness, Tenma opened his eyes feeling as if he had been in a long dream. However, he couldn't move, couldn't speak, and couldn't breathe. But he even felt that the latter wasn't necessary.
In front of him, a cataclysm suddenly occurred. A massive coliseum ruling the sky was fading away as portals appeared here and there. Amidst it all, he found himself, watching everything unfold.
He was frozen as he saw the scene unfold before him, and his surroundings, at least what he could see by turning his eyes, didn't seem trustworthy. Dozens of blue lights were talking as well, but he couldn't understand a single word. They were like him. Tenma quickly understood, he had become a soul like all the others around him.
What was this place? Tenma seemed very worried, fearing judgment. He felt his body with great coldness, even though he no longer possessed one.
He looked up again when he heard a flapping, seeing angels flying over a strange clock floating in the sky. These angels, beautiful as the tales everyone tells, tried to fight against that mysterious object. But it only blocked them with a strange field covering it completely. That clock had appeared through a huge portal, which was getting larger every time. Thus creating a rift of great fear.
The ground of the coliseum was collapsing, as if the clock could manipulate the gravity of the place. Tenma tried to escape before any debris fell on him. He tried his best to stagger, but there was no change.
And the ground where all the souls were standing collapsed. Leaving them to fall into a dark void.
The souls screamed in fear, catching the attention of a few angels, who flew hastily to rescue them. One by one, they were rescued and taken back to the surface.
But he was the soul falling farthest below. Falling farther than the others, and watching as all were rescued except him. As the sky grew smaller to him, his sight darkened more and more. Without seeing, he would be dead in life. Tenma feared, trying to hold on as much as he could.
In an unexpected movement, a hand grabbed Tenma's soul. An angel with silky hair, blonde and with striking blue eyes was the savior of his being. Tenma was more grateful than ever. His thanks didn't stop, while the angel tried to ignore them as he carried him again.
The angel began to flap his wings again, rising carefully as he looked at the dark void. He firmly grasped Tenma's soul and took flight. But not before a rock twice his size fell on him. Knocking him out.
Tenma screamed in terror as he watched the beautiful angel bleed and fall with him. He managed to try to hold onto him somehow, as darkness filled his vision with dread.
His arrival in heaven was far from paradise. And finally, he too was knocked out, a rock falling on him as well.
