Chapter 81: The X-Men 6
Iceman continued to increase his potential to try to freeze Jack, even though Jack wasn't afraid. He wanted Iceman to be able to increase his potential even more and not be afraid of turning Jack into an ice cube.
So Jack began to use magic to increase his resistance to the cold and use fire to warm his body up a bit. This completely thawed his body, and Bobby became discouraged and tried to increase his strength even more by controlling the ice.
Storm and Jean noticed that Bobby had really broken through his limits several times during this training, but even without Jack using his full strength, he wasn't anywhere near being frozen. But this was good because Bobby was getting stronger.
Soon Bobby reached his limit and couldn't increase the power of his ice anymore. He was impressed with Jack's strength and grateful for Jack's help.
"You improved today. If you can use your powers to thaw things as well, you can try to freeze stronger enemies you face. If you can't, you'll weaken them, and if you can, you can thaw them afterward so you don't kill them," said Jack.
Afterward, Jack continued to face other younger mutants. For the unknown ones, he gave useful advice they could use to improve their fighting skills. For the known ones, he reminded them of the limits he had seen in the comics and what they could improve on.
Kitty Pryde had great control over her current powers, and Jack just trained with her and let her pass him because it was just training. He knew that only she could seriously hurt him if she used her arm to appear inside his head while phasing.
Jack used a little lightning to show that her disadvantage was magic, and he had a lot of magic and spells to use in a real fight, so he could only give advice on her fighting skills.
Soon all the young mutants fought against Jack and learned a little, so only Rogue was left. She was very tense because she found it difficult to face Jack, who had absolute power. She took off her gloves and the other mutants became tense with that.
They waited to see what powers Rogue could absorb from Jack and if he would become weaker with her touching him and absorbing his life force. Jack was also curious to know what powers his Rogue could absorb.
He knew she could absorb memories too, so he had the Mind Stone protect his mind. With the Mind Stone, it was impossible for Rogue to absorb any memories. So everyone waited for Rogue to touch Jack.
Seeing that Jack had no problem with it, Anna Marie stopped hesitating and put her hands on Jack's face, which was not protected by his hero suit. She touched Jack and they waited, waited a little longer, but nothing happened.
Anna and Jack were confused because they knew very well how her powers worked. Jack expected Rogue not to be able to read his memories, but he did not expect her to be unable to absorb his vitality or any powers.
Anna looked like actress Anna Paquin at 19, but her face was a little different, more like the comics. Anna was confused and then shocked. No matter how confused she was, she realized that her power didn't work on Jack.
Jack thought about it and figured it must be because of the two Infinity Stones he had. He had never met anyone in the stories he read in the past who had the Infinity Gauntlet and had been affected by Rogue.
While Jack was thinking about it, he noticed that Anna was crying in front of him and touching his face with tenderness. Jack found this confusing but soon understood. It must have been years since she could touch someone's face for a few seconds without almost killing the person.
Jack was surprised, Anna was happy, and the younger mutants were shocked and happy to see Anna happy, but the older mutants panicked seeing this. The strongest mutants in the X-Men were Rogue, Iceman, Wolverine, Beast, Storm, Jean, Scott, and Professor Xavier.
Now they realized that part of the powers of Jean, Professor Xavier, Beast, Wolverine, Iceman, and Rogue didn't work on him. Perhaps Jean and Professor Xavier could hurt Jack a bit with telekinesis.
Storm could also hurt Jack a bit, and so could Scott. But they knew that if Jack used magic and Raiton Chakura Mōdo, they wouldn't be able to hurt him anymore. And now that Rogue's powers couldn't affect him, the X-men didn't know if Jack was a threat.
After Rogue calmed down, she began to use her abilities to fight him. In this Marvel universe, unlike in the movie, Rogue also fought against Captain Marvel. She hadn't killed her or seriously injured her, but she had absorbed her powers and retained them, and also had part of Captain Marvel's personality trapped in her brain.
So Rogue could really put up a good fight against Jack, much better than the other mutants. Since it was a training session, Rogue didn't use her full strength, and Jack used all of his. Jack didn't just use his speed because he would have won easily.
Rogue didn't have many people she could fight with almost full force without using cosmic powers. She realized that even though his strength was strong, she couldn't hurt Jack much because he had a strong defense.
Rogue also had a lot of resistance to Jack's normal attacks, so they had a good fight and Jack taught her some skills, Rogue knew that if Jack used Raiton Chakura Mōdo, he would win and could even kill her.
This was because she didn't know about Stormbreaker, an axe that further increased Jack's powers, allowing him to easily kill most of the heroes on Earth.
Thus, the class ended and Jack returned to his room happy about the fun time. But all the mutants at Xavier Institute couldn't stop talking about what had happened in today's class for a few hours.
The older mutants went with Rogue to find Professor Xavier, and they had to talk about what happened. Anna, who was already calmer, told everything that happened, and when she touched Jack's face, she couldn't absorb his memories, powers, or vitality.
