Chapter 76: The X-Men 1
Jack resumed using hundreds of his clones to study every possible book on science and many other subjects. Now Jack had an eidetic memory and his mind worked faster than was possible, with no limits thanks to the Mind Stone.
That's why Jack wanted to master Earth's scientific knowledge and decided to create an AI. He wanted to create one that looked like J.A.R.V.I.S, but one that would be his to control. After all, he knew that everything he asked J.A.R.V.I.S was known by Tony.
He didn't plan on doing anything too big and didn't intend to create another Ultron. He only wanted an AI that could help Peter and Bruce in the laboratory and better control the armor that Tony gave him so that Jack could know things without having to do the research himself.
While Jack's clones did the research, Jack relaxed. It was useless to train in the machine that Reed gave him since the Infinity Stones were enough to make him several times stronger. It was a shame that the energy he could absorb from the Earth was much lower than in the Negative Zone, but he didn't want to go back to that place to gain strength faster.
While Jack was thinking about what he could do, he received a call from Natasha, who he hadn't spoken to in months. He thought she would want to talk to him as soon as she found out his hero identity, but he didn't understand women.
He met Natasha at a restaurant in New York, and she was dressed in normal clothes, without any disguise or the Black Widow fighting suit. Jack sat in front of her and looked at her, waiting for her to start talking, after all, she was the one who called him here.
"I was really surprised when I found out that you were Battle Sage, but I can't help but wonder how you knew I was a spy?" Natasha said.
"The truth is, I'm good with computers. When I became a hero, I wasn't as strong as I am now, so I knew I needed to research. I hacked into S.H.I.E.L.D's servers and found out about you, Fury, Clint, and other agents like Phil," Jack lied.
"It's hard to believe that without using any powers, you managed to hack into S.H.I.E.L.D's servers. If it were that easy, then no secret would be kept," said Natasha.
"I'm telling the truth, I don't need to prove anything I'm saying. I just told you I knew you were a spy to show that I knew I was going out with Natasha and not Natalie that time," said Jack.
"Yes, but I went out with you as Natalie. As Natasha, I wouldn't go out with someone I don't know and don't trust," said Natasha coldly.
"I know that, but that was a good opportunity for you to get to know a little bit about who I really am. That's why I told you the whole truth when you asked about my personal life. I didn't ask about your life because I wanted to know Natasha and not Natalie's false past." said Jack.
Natasha didn't know what to say when she heard that. She really wasn't interested in Jack at the time and was just fulfilling her mission to investigate. But as Jack said, those conversations and dinner made her know more about who Jack is.
"You're a spy, Natasha. If you wait to meet a man you can trust to start a relationship, you know you'll never find someone like that. After all, it's your job to distrust everything and everyone." said Jack.
"I just wanted to tell you that today. With time, we'll have more Avengers missions, and you'll have more time to get to know me better. If you think you can trust me, let's go out to dinner again." said Jack.
And so he left the restaurant and left Natasha thinking. He liked her because of the movies he had seen, so he wanted to give him a chance to have a real relationship with her, but he knew that Natasha was a difficult target because she didn't trust him.
So Jack would wait for a while, if it took too long, Jack would pursue other women he also liked in the movies, it would be less complicated than winning over Natasha, but Jack would have other problems with these other women, after all, they were all heroines.
Speaking of meeting new people, Jack thought it was now time to look for mutants, they were hidden and Jack in the past was afraid of Professor Xavier, but now he was no longer afraid and Wolverine had already appeared.
Mutants, like Reed Richards, were known in the comics for always getting into trouble, some of which could really end the Earth, so Jack had to meet them and see if they were dangerous.
Jack would also try to help the good mutants now that the heroes had high popularity and people trusted Battle Sage, but he would kill the mutants who wanted to cause Chaos, he would not ignore them as Professor X did.
Jack used the mind and space gems and soon found where the mutant school was located, the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, he preferred to first meet Charles Xavier than Magneto, now that he was not afraid of mind reading.
Jack stood by the gate and rang a bell, there was an intercom, but Jack did not know how to convince them to let him in, if he just rang the bell, maybe Xavier would talk to him after checking the security.
Jack was naturally dressed as Battle Sage, so he could use his identity as a hero to gain more trust from Professor Xavier, and as he hoped, he soon saw Jean Grey coming to greet him.
Jean Grey was more similar to Sophie Turner but had a slightly different face that was more similar to the comics, she had beautiful natural red hair, but Jack didn't want anything with her, after all, Jean was loved by several people, especially by Scott Summers and James "Logan" Howlett.
"Hello, I'm Jean Grey, welcome to Xavier Institute, Battle Sage, I heard about you on television and Logan also talked about you, the Professor is waiting inside, come with me," said Jean and went to show the way.
"Thank you, I didn't know how to get in touch with you, so I decided to come directly to Xavier Institute, I have known mutants for a long time and thought about talking to you, but only after seeing Wolverine helping people did I decide to come," said Jack with a smile.
