Chapter 37: Stark Expo 2
The comics and comics showed that Tony Stark's fortune was greater than $10 billion, but no one knew exactly how much he had at the height of his company.
Pepper thought Jack deserved the money Tony had given him because, in addition to saving Tony's life, the new element Tony had created was a new form of clean energy that could be created on a larger scale.
In the future, with this new technology, Stark Industries could manufacture electric cars, and private planes with clean energy that would not pollute, and only the increase in the value of the company's stocks would be much greater than the $1 billion Tony had given Jack.
Jack didn't want to accept because he knew that if it weren't for him, Tony would create this new element anyway, but after thinking, he decided to accept to make Tony happy and proud to say that his life was worth more than $1 billion.
So now Jack could buy whatever he wanted and not run out of money for the rest of his life. After buying the new mansion, Jack bought several social clothes and suits that he had no interest in before and put them in the new house.
Jack bought a new car, an Audi A4, just to ride around while he was in California. He brought his car with the new clothes and put it in the new garage.
"Tony, I decided to buy a mansion near yours in Malibu with the money you gave me. I wanted to ask you to build a laboratory in my new mansion similar to yours and build a place to store the armor you gave me in secret," said Jack.
"You did the right thing buying a mansion here in Malibu, so you can come and rest here whenever you want using your portal. Leave it to me and I'll send my employees to create the lab and place to store the armor for you," said Tony laughing.
Jack needed a laboratory in the future. He could bring the armor and leave it stored in his new mansion, so he could create a portal to his mansion when he needed his clones to use the armor.
In the rented house in New York, he would only keep the machine to increase his strength, so if S.H.I.E.L.D. came to visit his house, they would only discover that he is a superhero, which was not a secret.
Jack also decided to buy an apartment in New York and bought a laboratory to use in the future. The laboratory was large and could be used to create various mechanical, physical, biological, and even nuclear experiments.
It was a laboratory of a company that had gone bankrupt after causing several deaths with a failed experiment, so Jack could buy a very large laboratory for a small price.
While Jack was buying several things in Malibu and New York, Tony was preparing for the Stark Expo and going out almost every night with Pepper. Now that Tony was cured and had made new armor, he had more time to go out with Pepper.
Natasha saw that Pepper was much happier and also knew that Tony was no longer stuck at home and appeared at the company several times, so Natasha couldn't understand why it seemed like Jack had disappeared.
In the last month, Tony and Jack seemed like great friends and always went to places together. Then Pepper told Natasha that Tony and Jack were researching something important and that's why they weren't leaving Tony's house.
This made Fury and Natasha more certain that Jack was Iron Man, after all, they knew that Jack hadn't studied at any college and wouldn't be able to help Tony in research unless he was testing the new armor.
Although they were wrong in thinking that Jack was Iron Man before, surprisingly they were right this time. Jack could only help Tony by giving him tips to create the new element and advice to improve the Iron Man armor.
As Jack had obtained several armors for his clones to use, he had theoretically become the real Iron Man alongside Tony Stark.
Natasha had also called Jack several times to invite him to dinner or a meeting to investigate, but Jack had turned off his phone while he was helping Tony.
After Tony finished improving the armor and was equipped with a new arc reactor and had created armor for both him and Jack to use in the future, Tony returned to going out with Pepper while preparing for the Stark Expo.
But Natasha had not seen Jack at Stark Industries or going anywhere with Tony since then. She found it strange but decided not to call Jack. After all, they were not dating, and she could not risk blowing her cover by seeming too anxious. That was until Nick Fury called her.
"Natasha, where is Jack Shaw? Because I am not hearing any reports about him?" Fury asked.
"Jack has not shown up at Stark Industries yet. Lately, he was helping Tony with some research and turned off his cell phone," Natasha said.
"That research must have finished by now. Yesterday, Jack Shaw bought a mansion in Malibu, a new car, an apartment, and a lab in New York. In the last few days, Tony transferred 1 billion dollars to Jack," Fury said, not understanding what was happening.
"I really don't understand what happened for Tony to transfer 1 billion dollars to Jack, so you have to find out what's going on," Fury said, annoyed at not understanding the situation.
"Alright, Fury, I will investigate what's happening. I'll ask Pepper and then call Jack to go to dinner with him," Natasha said.
Natasha was also shocked by what had happened. She had seen that Tony Stark seemed happy despite giving 1 billion dollars, and even if Jack was Iron Man and Tony's bodyguard, it didn't make sense for him to pay that much money.
Soon, Natasha waited until Pepper finished a call and went to her office, bringing some documents that Pepper had to sign, so she could ask Pepper about Jack.
"Mrs. Potts, I brought some documents that need your signature," Natasha said.
"You can bring the documents here, Natalie," Pepper said.
"Mrs. Potts, sorry to ask about this, but I wanted to know if you know where Jack is. I tried calling him a few times, but he seemed busy with Mr. Stark, and then he didn't come to the company anymore," Natasha asked.
