'What is it?' Cane mouthed. He thought she was feeling uncomfortable. After all, this was the first time she was in the palace, being scared for Ethan on top of that.

But when she raised her head and looked at Cane, she only frowned and looked even more uncomfortable to talk. She glanced around, indicating that she couldn't talk in front of so many people. It was strange for her to act this way.

Cane looked at her for a moment before he let the King know that his mate needed to take rest.

"She is not like us, her body is way more delicate and a long journey in this harsh weather has taken a toll on her," Cane said smoothly. Everyone present there knew that Iris was a runt and fell sick constantly, thus the King didn't have any reason to hold them back when the conversation with Lou didn't concern him at all.
