Chapter 108: Nothing to ask

Alexander arrived at the shared apartment, which was empty, as Marlon and William had not yet returned, and took the opportunity to take a well-deserved shower to wash off the sea water on his skin. He then quickly unpacked the few belongings he had taken, and sat down in front of his laptop.

Alexandre connected to the Academy's website in the encyclopaedia section, he quickly searched for "Karma System" but had no results, Alexandre's theory seems to be correct, a kind of censorship surrounds this aspest of Pip-Boy but something intrigued Alexandre, why integrate an option in the Aurora system and the Pip-Boy if it was to censor it afterwards? Alexandre understood the hunter association's desire to avoid crime between hunters, but he wondered why not simply remove it? Alexandre wondered if Terra-Corp had any interest in such a system, after all, Hunter organs were precious, but Alexandre doubted this hypothesis, their business relied on what the Hunters brought back from the Black Zone, killing them would be like killing their business, so of course when a Hunter died of this injury he'd get back their organs and bones, but wanting to promote this was something that was hardly conceivable in his opinion.

Alexandre reflected, sensing that he was missing an important element to clear all this up, but he knew he had to be patient, for now he was just a simple student, a little smarter than the average.

So Alexandre continued to surf the academy's website, cashing in on the knowledge it offered him.

As the evening wore on, William arrived sometime in the early evening, while Marlon arrived at dinnertime.

As the three men took turns getting ready to eat, and then began opening cans of beer and eating, Alexandre struck up a conversation and said "Did you make it?".

William nodded in approval and said "Yes, it was difficult, but yes".

Marlon replied, "No, I tried all afternoon, but it was impossible! You'd think I'd come here to learn magic, Fuck this school!"

William "Dude, I've told you a dozen times! It's not magic, you just have to learn to concentrate on controlling your Hunter energy and it'll be easy, you'll see!"

Marlon replied: "That's easy to say when you've got a high IQ, but for normal people, it's harder to do! Then Marlon turned to Alexandre and said, "And you, my brother, did you succeed?" Guillaume looked at him too.

Alexandre smiled and said "Yes!"

Marlon was crestfallen and said "What! Are you serious? Shit, I must really suck! At this rate, I'm going to get fired!"

William says "But no, I'm going to teach you that tonight, tomorrow you'll get the reward points Jack Blade promised!"

Alexandre interrupted and looked at William and said "Aufte William, don't you have to fight someone in the arena tonight?"

William smiled and said "Yes, but I don't plan to go! Our classes resume tomorrow at six in the morning, I don't have time to fight some asshole and if I get hurt it'll be catastrophic for the rankings."

Alexandre replied, "Oh, okay.

The three of them finished eating together, in a very convivial atmosphere. William and Marlon, very tired from the morning's test, quickly went to bed, but Alexandre had other ideas.
