The message had been well composed and respectful, glossing over the hope-you're-wells and all that bullshit, and then had nose dived right into the deep stuff. He'd claimed that he'd sought counselling and now recognized the problems that his insatiable masochistic drive had caused, and wanted to address it, for closure, so he could move on.
If he'd put anything else, Angel would have ghosted the fucker and moved right on, but doubt had prevented it. If he was being honest with him, then there was a part of him that felt duty-bound to help him. To give him that closure.
