The Abstract Nature

Terms used in this chapter

Third Law: It is a law of motion that states that " For every action in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction."

****

I was currently in a library reviewing the information that I just collected. If I were to describe the events that happened in the 1900s. I would say that it wasn't a natural phenomenon or a mutation.

It struck me odd how random the mutation was. Also, all of the animals who had gone through a mutation had similar features of white bodies and pinkish veins. From this much, I can decipher that the source of mutation is the same, but the question is...

'What is that source?'

I pondered as I began to remember if a similar incident to the 1900s had happened before. I searched through the newly added knowledge in my memory castle before I found some of them.

The Beast Tide during the period of Ancient Rome, The Plague during The Industrial Revolution, and The massive death rate during the Age of Enlightenment.

I think that there is some connection to these events. Even though I can't 100% guarantee that they are. I am 80% sure that they are related to each other.

'Could this be artificial?' I pondered but immediately put down this thought.

No, that can't be the case. Human knowledge at that time was limited. Even if somebody knew how cause and effect work in the universe. They wouldn't be able to imagine the abstract nature of it.

Famous physician Sir Issac Newton mentioned the cause and effect physically. However, even he failed to understand the abstract nature of it. I am not saying that his works are bad. Rather, they can be considered the pinnacle of discovery.

Sir Newton managed to explain the physical nature of the universe by using mathematics. He even did it without any prior reference or knowledge about it. He just got inspiration from a falling apple. This is what led to the creation of three laws.

He mentioned the physical nature of cause and effect in the third law. Tbh this law is the most used law in our daily life. Now, if I were in his shoes and was set up to describe the abstract nature, then how would I say it?

For reference, let's take the universe. I know for reference it's an overkill, but, hear me out. Many people know that the universe is expanding. This theory can be proved by the Red Shift and the Blue Shift. This is a known fact among physicists and scientists.

It is also a known fact that the universe is expanding uniformly in all directions. Okay, now what if I purpose a theory saying, 'No the universe is not expanding to all directions, it's stretching to all directions.'

Sounds dumb right? but that's exactly what I am trying to explain. Think about it, if the universe is stretching, it's under the influence of stress(force). This exact force is pulling the universe from all directions, which results in deformation, i.e. strain. The strain here is what we refer to as expansion.

'So, doesn't this theory also make sense?'

Well, this theory has its flaws. First of all, if the universe is stretching, shouldn't the heavenly bodies in it also get bigger due to the stretching force?

Generally, yes, but no. Physically, it will be impossible to explain this, but it can be explained even in physical terms with the help of abstract nature. However, first, one would need to know what abstract is.

In simple words, it's a kind of phenomenon we can try explaining theoretically, but it doesn't show any physical or concrete existence by itself. Now, here comes the second flaw.

If it can not show its physical existence, then how can one say that it exists? Well, if you have something called eyes. You should be able to read the theory and point out it is written 'by itself' in the end.

And now, with having eyes if you have something called the brain. You should be able to decipher that, 'by itself' means that it has a dependent property. In simple words, the abstract nature has a dependent property.

A/N: Wait a minute. Something's wrong, the fourth wall breaking?

It relies on the physical nature to represent itself. Now, going back to the question of how the universe is stretching and the heavenly bodies are not. It's because this type of force is only affecting the universe and not the matters inside it.

I call this type of force the mono-direct force. Here, mono means one and direct means targeted towards. The stretching force is only targeted towards the universe.

Take archery, for example. You only target your prey or anything you want to shoot. The same type of principle applies here. This is one of the features of abstract nature, "Selctive influence."

It is also because of this that such tragedies have happened in the past. Selective influence, meaning influencing only the selected target in this world case, it's...

'Wait a minute. Exactly what is being targeted in this world?"

I was so lost in my thoughts that I forgot to consider this. Speaking of which, I think I should do 'that' tonight.

"Hmm, now that I think about it, could these strange phenomena be targeting human advancement."

I hypothesized that these supernatural phenomena were targeting human advancement, but is it?

Night time...

I returned to the previous owner's apartment after gathering enough information. Although I couldn't pinpoint the exact thing that the strange phenomenon is targeting. I did manage to come up with other possibilities, but that's beside the case.

'It's time.'

It has been a long time since I had used this. I wonder if it will work in this world.

'Sigh, I wished that there was a better way to do this procedure.'

I lamented over my current state because the thing I am about to do is going to severely impact my future. I begrudgingly sat down in a lotus position and started to control my breathing.

Sometimes, I would breathe so fast that it would look like I was in fast-forward mode. While sometimes it would be so slow that it felt like an eternity. However, after some time, my lungs started to hurt.

'Alright now.'

Despite my chest hurting, I continued the abnormal breathing pattern. When it felt like my chest was going to explode. I then used...

My body started to break...

A/N: Hope you enjoy the chapter and feel free to comment. Your thoughts and criticism are valuable in helping me improve and stay motivated to write more.

I was unable to write many chapters during this week. The thing is, I am a little busy rn so it would be a little hard to find free time. I know some things might not make much sense, but rn I am just setting up the stage for future chapters. I will be posting a chapter in Vol 0 about some skills soon.
