Adeline stepped into the Duke's mansion with Elaine after escorting the troubled lady for a walk in the front garden. The heat of the season was starting to precipitate on them, and Elaine no longer felt the need to take a walk in such sunny weather even when Adeline volunteered to hold up an umbrella for her sake.

Stylishly fumbling with her manicured nails to keep her anxiety in check, Elaine felt restless the moment she arrived back at home to face the day, and she had successfully managed to keep her worries to herself without anyone suspecting if something was wrong. 

She didn't dare show her emotions since she had to be a woman with no emotions. She was known for that, the strict ice-cold Lady Elaine and she intends to keep her reputation that way.
