Chapter 39: Silver Gala

Leila's Pov

A few days after we came home from the hospital, I was getting ready to go to work when an invitation was dropped off at our apartment.

Aunt Maurice recognized it and squealed excitedly.

“Do you know what this is?” She presented a golden-colored card with the inscription, ‘Silver Gala’.

Jace came up to me, wanting my attention, as Aunt Maurice waved the card excitedly.

“It’s an invitation to the annual gala. It’s a gathering of wolves from different packs to celebrate the moon goddess.”

“Can everyone come?” I asked, picking Jace and carrying him securely by the hips.

“A party!” he cheerfully added, clapping his hands. Aunt Maurice poked his nose, chuckling. I joined their momentary glee but kept that to myself.

“Yes, it’s a party but only mommy can go.”

I raised a brow, shaking my head.
