Chapter 66: Tasting The Seafood
In the newly created fortress, multiple people could be seen moving back and forth. Each person was busy with their own work. It was a rush, as if preparing for a high scale event. Futuristic guns and spears could be found all across the area. War was on the horizon.
A single figure could be found in the command center. He slumped in a makeshift throne, a black skin tight suit covering his body. Royal golden armor fitted his arms, feet, and head. There was a single red emblem on the chest. A cape hung from his shoulders.
He seemed to be pondering. Planning the future of his people. It was unknown what went on inside his mind. The man checked several holographic screens to supervise different tasks.
"The time has finally come…the surface dwellers shall fall under my reign. They will all be demoted to 2nd class citizens. Finally!" He exclaimed to nobody in particular.
As the man basked in his own greatness, heavy pounding suddenly reverberated from the large doors. They soon opened with a low release. A single soldier ran into the room, panic oozing from his actions. He kneeled before the king.
"Lord Orm! I c-come bearing grave news!" The soldier announced.
"What is it? Speak."
"I-It…T-The k-kraken…S-She-"
"Out with it!" The king growled.
"My king…Karathen has fallen!"
Hearing these words, the king fell into a daze. He slumped back on his throne in disbelief. Luckily, his expression couldn't be seen through the helmet.
'What? Impossible! How could she be defeated?! We have yet to even declare war!' He thought.
The king tapped on his armrest, causing another holographic screen to appear. It revealed the ocean from an underwater view. Orm's eyes widened. There were only a few tentacles floating on the outskirts of a vacuum. An entire area was void of water, like a cylindrical tunnel of air.
'The fuck is this? Do the land dwellers hold a secret weapon? An artifact?' He growled angrily.
At that moment, the doors to the throne room opened once more. A strong elderly man walked inside with even steps. Ashen gray hair fell past his shoulders. His body was extremely chiseled. He was draped in green robes, a golden crown resting on top of his head. Then there was the golden trident in his hands.
King Orm's face paled. He immediately kneeled to this figure. The old man stopped in front of the king and looked down at the useless subordinate. A rusted tool. A worthless idiot.
"............................" The old man didn't say a word.
"Lord Poseidon?" King Orm finally spoke after a full minute of silence.
"It's been a while since I've been disappointed this badly. The war has yet to begin and you've already failed me." Poseidon spoke softly. The entire fortress shook for a moment.
"Lord-"
"One of our greatest sea beasts has already fallen. Pitiful. Despicable."
RUMBLE
"Lord Poseidon. I beg your forgiveness." The king spoke with reverence. Poseidon eventually sighed, revealing his old age.
"No matter. So be it. I will send my son Polyphemus to aid you. If you fail even with his help, consider yourself cut off." The old god declared. King Orm grit his teeth.
"Thy will be done. We shan't fail you."
Poseidon looked at the king's kneeling form for a few more seconds. There was a slight smile, and his body suddenly turned into water. He soon disappeared without a trace.
'It's time for the world to worship the true gods of this planet. We shall return to the old days.'
There was a long moment of silence. King Orm eventually rose to his feet and glared at the soldier who happened to witness the scene. How unlucky. His death was set in stone.
"Ready the transmission."

The sound of food being consumed rang through the tower. From the living room to the kitchen, it could be heard all across. Giggles mixed in with the feast.
"Pretty good. It's a bit squishy though." Sora commented.
"Yum." Raven exclaimed in a sarcastic manner.
After slaying the beast, Sora had cooked up a storm in the Titan's headquarters. The fortress was ignored for the time being. Sushi was more important.
The team was extremely surprised to see Sora. They hadn't laid eyes on the young Lockhart since his disappearance at the county fair. Raven had apparently made an excuse for him. As everyone enjoyed the cooked meal, Starfire flew around the room.
"This food of the sea is truly delightful. Sora, you must become my personal chef from now on! You cannot decline."
"...That's not fair. I don't get a say?"
"Mm-mm." She shook her head.
The Tameranean was flying upside down over the table. She blocked Sora's view of his own plate. Her lovely cleavage hung right in front of his face. While chewing his food, the sleepy man leaned back in his seat. His gaze focused on her sweet mounds without giving anything away.
He finally swallowed his food before locking eyes with her. She'd been staring at him the entire time, so it was obvious that she'd seen his gaze. Sora gave a slight smile and so did she.
'She knows the eye candy that she's giving me. I'm starting to believe that she pretends to be an airhead on purpose. Amazing.' He thought.
"But what if I don't want to cook anymore?"
"Mmm…then you must provide the recipe." She responded after giving it some thought. As they continued their staredown, Sora shook his head.
"...Nope."
"What? Whyyyyy?"
"I can't remember the recipe."
"How? You just made it!"
"...Can you help me remember?"
"Mmm? How would I possibly do something as difficult as that?"
"What…Are you trying to say that my brain is bad?"
"No! Stop trying to set me up." Starfire frowned.
"Ok ok. But let me tell you how I can remember."
Sora leaned forward, closing the proximity between them. It seemed to be a secret. Beast Boy, Raven, and Blue Beetle ignored the convo and kept eating. Robin was too busy watching the TV in the living room. Brooding.
After whispering in her ear, Starfire couldn't keep her cool anymore. She went to fill up her plate again while also acting as if nothing happened. A bit of red could be seen on her cheeks. Sora could hear her rapid heartbeat. He smiled as the narcissism bubbled up once more.
BANG
"...Ouch."
Raven kicked his shin under the table. Oops. He'd been discovered. In order to appease her, he raised some sushi to her lips. The gloomy girl rolled her eyes before taking a bite.
Time went on as the group spent time together. Sora made sure to give everyone some attention, including Robin and Beast Boy. Nobody was left out. From board games to videogames, many things happened.
Still, this was too much brainpower for the sleepy man. In the middle of one of the activities, the Teen Titans turned to see him asleep on the couch.
A few more hours passed in this manner. Eventually, Sora felt his body moving. Someone was shaking him. His golden eyes slowly opened to see Raven. His ultra sleepy face caused her to gulp. It hit her right in the soul. Too hot! She pointed at the TV.
"Look."
"The sleepyhead is awake! You are always doing the yawn." Starfire chimed in from the side.
The young Lockhart focused on the TV. An interested smile soon adorned his lips. It seemed as if the stations had been taken over. Hacked to be more precise. The screen only showed static. A face was in front of the screen, covered in a golden helmet. His voice was dark and distorted.
"Greetings. Land dwellers. My name is Orm, the ruler of Atlantis. For too long have we allowed you inferior lifeforms to pollute our oceans. That ends today. I am officially declaring war. Pray that you survive the coming tides, as your weapons will not help you." The screen glitched before returning to normal.
