They cross the river early the next morning, and although none of them would admit it out loud, each one scanned the water looking for hippo. They had come loaded for bear, or should I say loaded for anything that they may come up against, Piet had the 458 Lott, David the 416 Rigby and all three women are armed with 9 mil Browning, Philip armed with the 303 rifle. Both men also wore side arms.

The time for taking chances was over now and the group was filled with a grim determination to see this through to the end.

The launch pilot brings the launch in smoothly up against the river bank, and the six of them climb onto dry land and stand to look up at the thick vegetation that surrounds them, and which hides the smallholding from view.
