Parent’s weekend away

My parents went away for the weekend, leaving me alone in the house. I didn’t mind. Coop came over to hang out. Now, I know what people are thinking. Parents go away for the weekend, and it’s a free for all. It’s not. Plus, what would I gain from breaking my parents’ trust?
Coop knocked at the door, and I answered it. /"Welcome to my humble abode, where my parents left me alone to fend for myself./"
Coop chuckled and entered. I closed the door behind him.
/"How often do your parents leave you alone?/" Coop asked.
/"It depends. Sometimes, my parents take a weekend to see family or spend time alone. It gives them and me a break from each other./"
Coop laughed. We went into the kitchen, and I made us lunch. Coop hopped onto the counter and sat there as I made sandwiches.
/"I got my acceptance letter for college,/" Coop said.
/"And?/"
