Chapter 289: The masquerade party

"Michael, we've been invited to the party," Lance said calmly but persuasively. "Ma'am deserves to have some fun and let loose. She'll be safe, especially since it's a masquerade party."

He handed him the invitation card.

Michael mulled over his words, his gaze shifting between the invitation card and Abigail.

"Look, Michael… I'll be safe with Lance. Let me go and have fun."

"With this mask on, no one will be able to recognize her." Lance handed Abigail a black, shimmering mask, which she quickly put on.

Michael carefully observed them. He finally nodded and said, "All right, but I'm going with you," he stated firmly, his tone leaving no room for negotiation.

Abigail sighed inwardly, realizing that she had little choice but to agree. She understood Michael's deep commitment to her safety.

"Only you," she said, trying to negotiate. "I don't want to attract people's attention."

"Okay." Michael agreed with a nod.
