Chapter 143: Roaming around the farm.

The living room was cozy and warmer with the comfortable furniture, and fire burning in the hearth. Plenty of natural light was streaming in through the windows.

A lovely young woman came over to them with a smile. "Welcome Sir, Madam… I am Janice."

"Hello, Janice," Abigail greeted her back. "It's nice to meet you."

"Pleasure is mine, madam. You must be exhausted from your long journey. Please freshen up first. I'll deliver the food to your room."

Jack led them to their room. "Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you." With that, Jack left.

Abigail and Christopher were alone in the large, bright bedroom, with sturdy wooden furniture and handmade quilts on the bed. The walls were painted light blue, with several contemporary paintings. A rocking chair was placed by the French window.

Abigail was taking in her surroundings when she felt his arms around her waist. She smiled and placed her hands on his forearms.
