Chapter 55: Tournament, (2)
Tess and Xander both charged forward at incredible speeds as a loud 'clang' resounded throughout the arena from the impact made between the two metal swords that just clashed.
I could see everything happening. I could sense everything that was happening as well. I could tell when they would use magic from the sudden change in mana around them and I could tell how they would move physically from the small change in their body's position and which muscles flexed. Sometimes Xander's eyes would move to look at where he would strike next as well but he didn't seem to notice. Tess on the other hand did.
Xander's eyes shifted to the left side of Tess's lower abdomen and his sword followed with him. Tess noticed this and blocked it with her sword before kicking Xander who was sent skidding backwards leaving a dust trail that slowly lifted into the air.
He didn't waste anytime and quickly jumped back in with his sword ready and begun slashing at Tess. Horizontal slash to Tess's upper right arm. Dodged. Kick to Tess's abdomen. Grabbed by Tess and flung back making him stumble. Bullet made of flames and a thrust to Tess's right thigh. Countered with Tess's own fire bullet and the sword was blocked by her own making a screeching sound.
Tess outmatched Xander and I'm sure he could tell as a worried look made it's way onto his face. He gathered more fire and shot out bullets after bullets all of which were made of his flames. Tess did the same and countered all of the fire bullets sent her way. She then jumped forward a little and began striking Xander. She thrust her sword at his upper arm resulting in a slightly deep cut that trickled blood down his arm and dripping off.
She then slashed at his calf causing Xander to try jump out of the way but failed causing the sword he tried to escape from cut through his lower leg. He stumbled backwards as his leg bled and streamed down his legs and to the floor leaving a small but growing pool of scarlet red blood.
"Urgh.."
Tess moved her sword away from Xander's leg and brought it up towards his neck but Xander blocked her sword as his hands trembled against Tess's sword which held great power behind. He tried to push away Tess's sword which she allowed, making Xander use to much force and inch forward a little. Tess moved her sword round as she dashed behind Xander before she brought her sword back up to Xander's neck yet this time it was on the other side.
"END!" Callum shouted and Xander was carefully helped of the stage by Tess.
"Well done." I said to Tess as she walked past me.
"I'm still mad at you for not training me and choosing someone else." Tess pouted.
"You never asked."
"I thought you would say no." Tess grumbled as she moved Xander to a bench to sit down.
"We will move right on to the second fight of round 1!" Callum shouted, "will Kiera and Jayden please come up."
Jayden and I went to the centre of the arena and I transformed Adonis to my Katana and Jayden drew his sword.
"Haha, I hope you've prepared for your loss." Jayden said as he reached himself.
"I don't need to do that." I replied.
"So your already prepared for it? Or are you saying you'll beat me? You know, I'm one of the strongest in this academy. The big three. I'll come out on top so just give up now so we don't waste time." Jayden sneered.
"I know that you're one of the so called strongest but that doesn't matter to me." I replied with an expressionless face.
"You'll regret this.." he said as he chuckled to himself.
"Ready?" Callum said.
We both nodded.
"BEGIN!"
Instantly I used [Inferno] and [Fire blade] which wrapped the flames around my sword along with [Wind enhancer] and [Lightning enhancer]. I stacked the abilities and Jayden didn't waste time as he leaped forth and tried to end this in one struck which ha failed at. Miserably.
His sword was coming for my head so with haste, I promptly blocked it with my Katana. This caused Jayden to be a little surprised but quickly recovered as I pushed his sword off of mine and slashed at his stomach as I formed swords of fire hidden behind my back. I predicted before hand that he would black my strike with a strike of his own so before our swords clashed, I quickly moved mine away with fluid like motions and I jumped up really high revealing the 30 small sword I created and crammed together.
I sent the swords forward at Jayden and he quickly tried to slash through them or block them with air bullets he made which failed as his aim was terrible. Most of the fire swords I created had hit him making him angry and more aggressive.
"Strongest?" I questioned.
'I haven't even used much strength and he was already in this state.'
"Since you were new here I decided to go easy on you but since you have managed this.. I'll fight you full strength. I hope your ready.. hahaha." Jayden laughed as his aura exploded from his body making most of the people in the stands shake a little as they felt fear creep into them just from the strength of his aura.
"I didn't know aura could do that." I said totally unaffected by his aura.
He jumped at me even faster than he did previously but still slower than me. He slashed down with his sword on my arm which I quickly turned and stepped away from she he rotated his blade and slashed back towards me, I ducked under his sword which was aimed at my chest and swiped his legs. He tumbled over and shot air magic at me so I used air magic and made a thin but strong barrier around my body which blocked the air magic.
"That should've injured you!" He said as he quickly got back to his feet.
"You can't tell? I've made a barrier of wind around my body which can easily stop your magical attacks.
"You!"
He jumped forwards and started swinging at me which never managed to hit me as he wasn't thinking rationally. I didn't even have to dodge or block sometimes as he would just miss by himself.
"I don't think your swinging properly." I said as I looked at him calmly.
"Shut up." He growled as he thrust his sword at my heart which I dodged and the used [Fast steps] to get behind him really fast.
"Huh?" He said as I kicked the back of his knees causing him to tumble forwards and land on his hands and knees.
He rotated his body and tried slashing me which I quickly blocked and pushed his sword away with a bit to much strength as it flung out of his hand and landed on the dirt floor.
"Done." I said as I brought my sword to the side of his neck.
"END!" Callum called out.
I walked off and towards where the rest were and sat down on the ground, leaving Hayden behind who was flabbergasted.
