Chapter 42: FORTY TWO

The rest of dinner went smoothly and when it was time for nightcaps Alex declined Avery knows he's in a hurry to go home so he can grill her about what happened but she won't none of that the second they stepped into their bedroom she headed for shower and to her luck he received a phone call she was coming out of the bathroom and saw him standing outside on the balcony as if sensing her presence he turned their eyes locked.

He came over to her each step that brought him closer made her heart thud even faster.He hasn't touched her since yesterday and she so desperately wanted to feel his arms around her at least there she feels safe,she gets a sense of peace and comfort she never felt or experienced before."I have to go."He said breaking the silence.

"I understand."She said her heart breaking,she had hoped to fall asleep in his arms again after her encounter with Nick she won't get any rest.

"Is Nick the man who raped you."Avery froze for a full minute.
