While they were waiting for Robert to wake up, Abraham consumed the blood from the two fallen dalki. As he came after the two-spike dalki evolved into a three-spike one, he was not able to get the two-spike blood. Thus his new quest was updated.
[Quest: evolve dragon bloodline]
[one-spike dalki blood: 2/10]
[two-spike dalki blood: 1/1]
[three-spike dalki blood: 2/2]
"The two girls have seen you drinking the blood. Are you going to use the influence skill to make them forget about everything that happened?" the system Ai wanted to know Abraham's next step.
"That is the most logical and safest option."
"Why do I feel a 'but' coming." The system cut Abraham's sentence as the latter had spoken in a slow tone.
"But I wish to see what the two girls would do after such an event." Abraham replied to the system confirming the latter previous guess.
Looking at both of the girls, Abraham found them to have injuries all over their bodies. Especially Gwen had a broken arm. Abraham called both of them and asked them to sit on the ground. He explained that he had a way to help increase their healing process but to do so he had to touch them on their back.
After both removed their armor, Abraham sat behind them and inserted a small amount of Qi simultaneously inside both of them. He then proceeded to explain the Qi energy to them and how to use it. Just as Malia was about to ask some questions, Abraham heard some noise coming from the body of Robert. All of them rushed toward him and he slowly woke up.
As Robert opened his eyes, Gwen slowly helped him to sit.
"What happened?" He asked.
Then images started to flash through his head of jumping in the way to save Gwen. He quickly looked down at his stomach and noticed there was no visible wound on his body.
"How? I should be dead. How am I alive?" Robert asked a second question.
This time both Malia and Gwen looked at Abraham wanting him to give them an answer.
"How are you feeling?" Abraham inquired.
"I'm feeling good," Robert replied. "Better than usual actually, although I am a bit hungry. Wait, I'm not feeling my ability." Robert tried to control a small rock by his side but nothing happened.
"Look what I'm going to tell you may be hard to accept but that is the reality now. But with the change comes enormous potential. First I will explain who I am and then explain exactly what happened to Robert. In reality, my ability is not superhuman. In fact, I'm not even considered a human from others' perspectives but I do still think like a human. I am what is known as a vampire."
With just these sentences, the trio was incredulous, upon hearing about the existence of myth-like vampires.
"A vampire is naturally stronger, faster, and better overall compared to a human. We have the ability to use blood as an attack. That was what I used to kill the three-spike dalki. I am not a naturally born vampire; in fact, two years ago I was still a fully human with no ability whatsoever. For a vampire to survive, they have to drink human blood. That's one of the moral differences that happen. The only people that know about me are the Green family.
As for what happened to Robert, a vampire has the ability to turn a human into a vampire family. That was the only way I had in my possession that I could use to save Robert as a vampire or a vampire subclass that has a natural regeneration ability."
After Abraham gave them a short explanation, silence regained among them as they were processing what they were just told. After a while, it was Gwen that broke the silence.
"It doesn't matter to me whether you are a human or a vampire. At no point in time did you treat us differently. You even treated us better than those that were close to us. For Robert, I was the one that begged you to save him. I don't care if he is no more human, I will still continue to love him.
I'm sorry Robert, I'm selfish. I could not watch you die and made the decision for you. I hope you can forgive me". Finally, Gwen broke again into tears remembering the situation Robert was in.
Robert brought Gwen into his embrace to calm her down. Among the three, Robert was the one that was taken the change better even though he was the one who was most affected.
"Does that mean I'm required to drink blood from now on?" Robert could not help but swallow some saliva when thinking about it.
"You see a vampire can only consume blood. Apart from that the only food a vampire was able to eat was meat. Anything else was not possible. If I blooded someone, it doesn't automatically mean that they will turn into exactly a vampire. There are many other subclasses. Robert got turned into what is known as a vampire ghoul.
Ghouls are stronger, faster, and can see better than a human. But their main strength is their incredible healing abilities, they are even more impressive than a normal vampire. Broken bones and chunks of flesh will be instantly healed on the spot. But unlike a vampire, a ghoul does not have the ability to control blood and use it as an attack. A vampire is naturally weak by sunlight but a ghoul is not affected by it."
Robert found the situation not bad and he even thought of it as a second chance in life. During the whole time, Abraham found that Malia had not uttered a single word.
"I wish to have some private time with Robert. I need you two to return to the human settlement and go behind the tallest tower. There you will find a small house. Knock on the door and say my name. The Green family will open the door. Also, give them this flask and tell them to analyze it. You are free to answer any of their questions."
Abraham took a glass flask from his shadow dimension and got some blood samples from Robert. He then gave it to Gwen and asked both Gwen and Malia to come close to each other.
All of them were still admiring how a flask had appeared from the shadow and the next instance Gwen and Malia found the ground under them covered entirely by the shadow.
Suddenly they found themselves sinking into the shadow and their mind was being distorted. There were having the same feeling of going through a portal but instead of seeing a mixture of colors, everything around them was dark. Both Gwen and Malia found themselves emerging back in the forest but instead of Abraham and Robert in front of them, they found the human settlement.
Abraham had used the magic circle for the portal in the settlement and modified it with a random location like that of a red portal.
"Before you ask, I teleported them near the settlement. I don't want any more incidents to happen. Now the reason for our time alone. There are many things that I did not tell you about being a ghoul. Ghouls are most loyal to their maker, the main reason for this is because my blood resides inside your body. I can give you any command and you will feel like you have no choice but to obey. This can become a curse if your maker is someone bad but believe me, I have no intention of using it. I'm far more powerful than you can imagine. Now about the elephant in the room. The cons.
Compare to a vampire, a ghoul needs another form of food instead of blood. A ghoul needs to feed on Raw meat as in .... human flesh."
When Robert heard the final words of Abraham, he was shocked, repulsed, and horrified. Cannibalism is considered taboo and is generally viewed as a repugnant and abhorrent practice. The idea of consuming the flesh of another human being created a sense of revulsion in him.
As Abraham saw Robert showing signs of extreme emotions, he decided to intervene to prevent Robert from going further down a hell of emotion.
