This girl was going to be the death of me.

I had just managed to pull away from her for her own good and now, she was straddling me, with nothing covering her. My eyes soaked up her body for a moment and my fingers dug into her hips.

But then I noticed her bandage again.

I groaned and closed my eyes, dropping my head back. With my head tipped back, Clare leaned in and nipped my neck. A sharp breath passed through my lips as I pushed her back slightly and stared back into her eyes.

She had that sly smile on her face again as she didn't avoid my gaze. Behind that, I could see desire in her eyes as well, as well as a hint of embarrassment.

Goddess, it was going to be hard to tell her no.

"Clare, we can't," I forced myself to say through a clenched jaw. "You're hurt and you've lost a lot of blood. You need to rest."
