Clare’s POV

“Did you need to speak with–” I began asking John, but he shook his head as he grabbed my hand and pulled me away from my father’s office door and down the hall into the opposite direction.

“No. Aiden was looking for you; he sent me to come and get you.” I rolled my eyes as I let John pull me into the direction of where I was assuming my lazy brother was.

“And he couldn’t come and get me himself? Lazy, lazy….” I poked John’s side as I pushed him lightly. “Did you have nothing better to do besides be on Clare retrieval duty?”

John shot me a side smile as he stared down at me and nudged me back. “Wouldn’t hear me complaining about having to come get you anywhere you are.”
