Marcus Cutler POV:

Rob and I sat at a table in the Hunting Ground. This wasn’t my first choice to take Julia for our first actual date, but the town wasn’t big enough to have any fancy restaurants. Besides, this was Julia’s favorite place to go out anyway.

Though until she got her, I was stuck having to endure Rob laughing at me for my recent life choices.

“Alright, you can stop anytime,” I ground out.

“It’s still going to be a while,” Rob managed to tell me between laughs.

“It’s not that bad,” I tried to tell him.

“You clearly don’t appreciate the irony of this situation,” Rob retorted happily. “You’ve been intimate with a vampire not once, but twice, and now you’re taking her out to dinner. You don’t see how that’s hilarious from my perspective?”

“I can see why you would think that” I replied. “That doesn’t mean I have to appreciate you laughing about it.”
