Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Love, Blood, and Fangs

Marcus Cutler POV:

Julia and I sat in a small diner. I was making my way through a Belgian waffle while Julia just smiled at me from across the table. It made some sense, since she couldn’t take nutrients from normal food, and since she had taken so much blood from me lately, she probably wouldn’t need to eat again for a while. Still, it was a little uncomfortable for her to be watching me while I ate.

“So, is this diner what you wanted to show me, Julia?” I asked when my waffle was half finished.

Her smile grew. “No,” she replied, glancing past me to the door. “It’s the person I asked to meet us here.”

I frowned at her, but Julia didn’t seem interested in giving me an explanation. I looked over my shoulder to follow her gaze, and I almost had a heart attack.
